Is this some US regulation?

Thanks!
Hello,
Thank you for noticing the quality and the lights. If you are able to take a look at my thread here :

https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...formation.html

I mentioned that this build will incorporate elements of many influences, likes and available technology to achieve the desired look and feel. Where the lights are concerned, there were three options that I considered, the Flatsix illuminations, 9eleven's, and JW speakers from Audette . Although I could not find comprehensive comparisons, subjectively the JW's are well revered and are on many vehicles not just the Porsches and the company produces a well engineered product. The trick is getting a housing and glass that fit and are appealing. The first two have a more upright appearance to the lenses which are more stock look. The Audette JW's are more sloping like the modern Porsches which I think fits well with the "future" part of the transformation. The housing that is used to contain the lighting assembly is based on the older 60s European versions that included the city light. I could have gotten John to make the housing without that feature, but I like the fact that the city light was limited in production years and on European specs only I believe. Plus, the glow at night is, to my eyes, pretty cool. Its activated by a switch so I don't need to have it on all the time. So yes , I could eventually seal that off to make a smooth inner surface, but for now, its a bit of a history lesson housed in a modern lamp technology.

Cheers

I see, and thanks for the reply!
AFAIK, the stand alone parking light is for the US sealed beam affection (behind clear glass).
RoW 911s had integrated parking lights in the base reflector (behind fluted glass), just like conventional inserts.

Some US sealed beams have a transparent hole in their rear reflector, but I've never seen these used on OEM 911 fitting...

To day was a PCA-CWR air cooled engine only drive. Even non-red air cooled cars were invited. Twenty-six of us met at in Aldergrove then drove the back roads to Harrison Hot Springs. There we took over a portion of the boat launch parking lot and allowed people to view our cars while practicing social distancing.
Happy driving and be safe.

We actually have a Concours event coming up in a week although it will be kids choice from a local charity for these kids, exterior only, social distancing etc. This will be my first of 2020 the year that didn't happen.

Just flushing all fluids and getting ready for anything car related. The last outdoor car related show I was at was Werks at Amelia. I was supposed to attend the Bridge, Luft, Greenwich and several others but nada. We seem to have drive bys and that was a term usually saved for shootings and I don't mean photo. My son is disgusted by how clean the car is and says I need to get it dirty. He then added he would be happy to help.

One of my favorite 964s. Really wish the Coupe Clubsport would have went into production!

Realized I still hadn’t tried my Flat6 headlights at night, so went for a drive tonight. (Any excuse...)

So much better than the stock lights

Found some twisty canyon roads about 10 minutes from the house, what a great way to unwind after work.

Can’t be getting that cold already, I have to think you have at least another month or two to enjoy it with the top down.

Love that house, I don’t remember seeing anything like that when we were in Stuttgart last year.

Thanks, but there are numerous nice houses in Stuttgart, mostly hidden behind walls....
My son is architect and built the house for us.
