OK guys, I read between the lines and hear, yes she‘s a beauty. But you might ask for driving dynamics, prefer a coupe with high HP numbers.
We had that in our previous cars (see longhood Friday threat) and I wasn‘t a Targa fan at all... before we did this project.
But we learnt from our previous 964s also that weight/suspension with optimized setup / better breaks and the black gold (tires) is even more important than pure HP,
and make you real fast even in a Targa.
Yes we have the Autobahn in Germany without speed limit (theoretically) but canyon carving through the Black Forest or the Alps is much much better.
Driving with open roof with this setup in a 964 is magic (to me).... and sorry that you can‘t hear the growling

I completely agree.

While my upgrades are not nearly as well thought out as yours I applied some tried and true upgrades to my Targa and the result is a very capable and incredibly fun car to drive that provides many of the additional sensory you get with a convertible but without the added weight.

I miss my Targa.
Summer evenings, winter days, light rain.

There's nothing like running a country road or mountain pass with the roof out.
Hearing the tires on the pavement, the engine noise, and to me the smells and constantly changing air temp...

A good way to find out you suffer from hay fever though too.
Coupe for me now.

Neko

Thanks guys, very kind... and not that you think we only worked on the outer appearance, with a full restoration you don't just take care of skin and muscles but also the bones ....before and after applying wax

Had the brakes and clutch flushed today. I honestly think most shops and dealers overlook the clutch but it is a good idea and the clutch actuation is definitely smoother.

Vollig Autowerks in San Diego, they are meticulous and one of the few shops that take the extra time to do the job right. The work on my Spyder too.

Crazy how just changing a set of wheels can change the whole look of a car

Very true about the wheels, and there are very few cars that can accept such a huge variety of wheel looks and pull it off. It’s the customizers dream car IMHO.
