Switch for front luggage compartment light?
I'm going through my recently purchased 964 as I get ready to connect the battery and get it on the road for the spring. I'm trying to eliminate possible battery drain sources before having my mechanic look at it in a few weeks. One of the items noted as a frequent cause of batter drainage was the light staying on in the luggage compartment. Can anyone tell me where the switch is that turns it off? Believe it or not, I can't find it (unless its behind the hood hinges...I hope its not all the way back there!)
Thanks!
Thanks!

OK- I'll test it when I re-connect the battery if I can find the switch (must be way back there on the hinge as I didn't see it in the front like Kevin's). If not, I'll pull the bulb like most people.
Thanks!

Yup, passenger (right) side hood hinge...follow the lead down to a plastic connector.
OR, as Jim does, just unscrew the cover and remove the bulb.
BOTH options are viable solutions, for the meantime...otherwise that switch is fairly cheap, $6 I believe?? Somewhere in that neighborhood anyway.

As Kevin implied, the location of the switch depends on the model year.
My 1990 has a very obvious switch near the hinge (and a similar one on the engine lid). My friend's '92 has it built into the latch-release in the nose (and, once again, a similar set-up on the engine-lid).
