Post Clear turn signals

Hi,
I looked in the archives, but couldn't find any real information about replacing the amber turn signals on my 964 with clear (European?) ones.

I noticed some Euro ones listed on Pelican Parts, but it's not clear from the description what modification is required to install them.

Can someone clear this up for me, or point me to a good link?

Thanks,
TD

Look in the archives under posts Jeff Curtis has made, as he detailed what has to be modified to make the clear ones fit.

Tony,

AJ-USA has some clear lenses. Go to their sight and type lenses into their search link. I think they are about $135

Tony, I answered your personal email and included one heckuva reference who can get you a set of these MUCH cheaper than Performance.

There is NO major modification done to the lenses to make them fit, you only have to trim a little material off the "fingers" that slide onto your bumper cover and secure the lenses tight to it. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

Hello Tony, you might check with Zims for
prices. Zims advertises in Excellent. I
purchased a set there a couple of years ago
at a very low price. I did not have to make
any modifications.

Clear lenses are not European. They are permitted only in certain countries. The UK would be the place to seek these clear lenses. Plenty of UK suppliers on the internet.

Watch eBay for lenses, picked up a set for about $60. They must order a bunch then auction them. Mine took about 4 weeks to arrive. Check item no.2406245187 on eBay motors parts & Accessories

In the UK, these lenses cost at least GBP95-110 after tax + delivery.

I purchsed mine new from a US supplier, paid the courier and import duty and they were still much cheaper than anything I could find in the UK.

The supplier was PAP parts - I think they're in New York - and you should be able to find them on eBay.

I had to get my Dremel out to cut a few tiny slivers from the locating lugs but after that they fitted perfectly.

They were Bosch parts with the same part number as the amber lenses originally fitted to the car.

Adrian, anything here in the States that looks "foreign" to us on a certain vehicle, like CLEAR indicator/signal/sidemarker lenses tend to be called "EURO-".

Kinda like Aero Mirrors are called "Teardrops" on the other side of the pond.

There are SEVERAL suppliers here in the U.S. that seem to be able to get the clear signal lenses cheap.

Not sure why search didn't show up earlier threads - there is at least one which was going on when I changed mine out - try search for "blinker" in this 964 forum
