Add a phillips and flat head screwdrivers, one more 13mm wrench, 10mm wrench for the smaller bolts that hold the muffler bracket... some rtv silicone to put a dab on the header gaskets to keep them defying gravity... and long 10mm,13mm, 15mm sockets... I think that covers the tools... will do inventory when putting everything back and update the list.

I am with you on that... looks as if the elbows that go from the muffler to the headers need to be a little bit longer for the muffler to be completely out of sight...

I will email Fabspeed to have them take a look at the thread and see what else they can comment on it.

Do the exhaust ends stick out far enough on a 964 if the oval tips are not installed? Hard to tell from your photo.

Does it seem like it will be easy to bottom out on the headers?
I ordered the tips to be welded once I have everything aligned... so not sure if they sent me different pipes. As it is, without the tips, they sit a bit into the bumper... so no way to use them like that (without tips) in my case since that would end up in a melted bumper...

Let me place the two photos for comparison...

Yours with the muffler nicely hidden...

Mine (I will try to get a photo from the same angle as yours for better comparison)...

Wachuko, I did email Alex at Fabspeed, to let him know I was having a bit of trouble fitting the muffler, hopefully he wil have the answer. It sure is a fine looking system, and I did hook it all up yesterday, but without the heater pipe in place, started it up, and man does that sound good, I cant' wait to get it all finished.

I'm having a hard time removing the 12 hex nuts that holds the header to the cylindres...

I had removed the left side header not too long ago and used anti seize on the bolts before putting it back, so that side was easy to take out... on the other side I soaked the bolts with penetrating oil several times, warmed up the car a bit, soaked on penetrating oil again... still those two were difficult to get out. One came out with stud and all...

Since one of the side markers was loose (broken tab) I went ahead and updated the side markers to clear units...

Remember mine is a gray market car that came from Sweden. US cars don't have those.

Cool

Redesigned parts for the Fabspeed muffler came in. Started installing these last night... then, while in there... decided it was time to take out the bumper, get the corner painted and install... paint the spoiler... So it is disassembly time!

I removed the muffler and put in the straight pipes so I can work on removing the bumper and still be able to move the car around.

Started last night (around 10:30pm)... I will setup the lift this afternoon to make it easier to work under the car.

Nice big oval tip

Starting to take the bumper apart...

More to come....

You could... but I took them all out... call me crazy but I like to look at the engine... wife will sometimes find me laying on the floor under the car day dreaming I really enjoy looking at all the details on the engines in these cars...

Anyway, I figured, that without all those covers, I can clean it better and have better, quicker access when doing the maintenance.
