Cool Track day in Sweden (photos)

The full story and other photos are here:

There were quite a few 964s there so I thought you'd like to see a few of my pics.

oh... and that last car was one that I got a ride in. Modified to 550 HP

There were at least four 964 RS too. Interesting to compare them back to back on the track with a 993 RS.

I was in Sweden two weeks ago, for the final weekend of the PCSR racing series at Mantorp park. On Sunday afternoon the PCS had a trackday, which looked exactly the same as this, down to the officials and some of the regular participants. Quite a few of those come to the Nürburgring every year, which was last weekend's event

There's still a load of pics of the Sweden trip on my computer, but haven't had a chance yet to put them online properly.

Thanks for bringing back lots of happy memories

Cheers,

JW

The 993RS did feel more 'planted', and slightly faster all round. Both great track cars though

It's the same kind of meeting you visited att Mantorp JW. The swedish Porsche Club organize about 14 trackmeetings every year and the one in this post was the last for this season.

The PCS seems very active, when compared to the Dutch Porsche clubs. The meetings seem much more fun too /

I just finished putting the first batch of pics online. Highlights are in a separate collection at http://ringbunny.fotopic.net/c285669.html (for those who have limited time); part one of the full set can be found at http://ringbunny.fotopic.net/c297775.html.

Cheers,

JW

Great shots JW! You don't happen to have any pics from the PCS event on Sunday September 12? I could not attend on Saturday but were able to stop by for a couple of laps on Sunday.

Actually I do, but I forgot to separate them from the rest. They start at http://ringbunny.fotopic.net/p7887851.html.

There aren't very many, as there was a bit of confusion on the side of the officials whether or not to let me take pictures near the track. During the PCSR race I could stand on the infield, but even though the marshall at the corner where I was taking pictures during the pre-race PCS track session didn't seem to mind me being there, another official told me to take off. Of course he had every right to do so, so I buggered off to have some lunch instead

But you never know, you might be in there...

Cheers,

JW
