I received the package from CNC shop on Friday.
Tomorrow covers go to anodising. Should get them back this week and start shipping.

Watch your PM box for shipment information.

These look awesome as is. I'm still on the fence over my black ones.... I like the raw/tooling marks.

Well there are different billet valve covers available in the market and there is no issue with pitting, as cam towers are from aluminium, while chain boxes are magnesium.

The only choice is design / price.

There are also cast valve covers from aluminium which have the OEM look (but these won’t anodise, so either raw or powder coated as I did with mine).

I’m thinking though on making valve covers for my Carrera 3.2 that would accomodate CoP, but this is not coming sooner into the plan than few months from now.

Guys some of the covers are already on the way (I'll send you PMs with tracking soon), remaining ones I will pack and ship in the upcoming days.

Did anyone ever build an aluminum chain housing box? The part that goes behind the covers? I have see a lot of people build the covers.

I think Singer did

It’s doable, but much more complicated and does not bring inexpensive benefits to a number of 964/993.

Yeah, but it solves a significant leak spot I assume relative to the magnesium inability to seal after corrosion.

Got the covers - thanks.

Didn't have a time to install them just yet, but they look amazing!

BTW - is it possible to install those without dropping the engine? One of my two 964s had just the engine rebuilt (unfortunately, with OEM covers) ...

Glad you like them and yes you can do it with the engine in the car, however it requires some work anyway, especially if your car has A/C.
Here is a nice write up:

Unfortunately (at least for me) pictures sometimes show up, sometimes they don't in the forum :-(

Guys as s65e90 changed his mind and decided to go with raw aluminium finish (so no finish at all) he has one set in Black for sale. So anyone in the US that is in need for the covers goes to him first, no need to wait for the next batch :-)

In the meantime I managed to find a proper scale and did some weighting.
Here is the "leichtbau", so the lightweight version (version 2) of the billet aluminium covers including hardware (studs + nuts) - that's the covers most of you have received.

What I was thinking of is how to get into some serious weight reduction (and not going fully titanium due to the cost), and here is the result.

Material used for the covers is Polyamide (Nylon 6) with some addition of MoS2. It's quite robust honestly and obviously fully resistant to fuel and oil.
In addition to reduce the weight even more, the set comes with Titanium bolts, and the result achieved is fully satisfactory to myself - less than half of the leichtbau version from aluminium.

Would anyone be interested in these? :-)
