I am about to replace the oil lines of my 1994 964 (WTL) and am stunned at the price of some of these hoses.
1 x 96420725408 = $469.40
1 x 96420725214 = $295.04

Where should I buy these and is it necessary to go with Genuine Porsche brand hoses or are OEM just fine?
Any input welcomed.

Considering not all that long ago this part 96420725408 was NLA the $310 from auto Atlanta is not bad. A few years back they were asking over $500 for this one 96420725214 but prices change monthly based on inventory. I wouldn't waste my time with aftermarket hoses they have been known to fail prematurely and aren't the same quality.

 

I replaced mine with hose from Elephant Racing, reused the end fittings. Had a local hydraulic shop do the crimps. The important part is to get the fittings "timed" so I would have them crimp one end, then install on car and mark the other before they crimped that one. Link to Elephantracing

 

I'm lazy, I bought the OEMs.
It's oil lines, just wanted to play it safe...

 

A while back there were issues with the OEM lines kinking. Is that still the case? I've got this project coming up soon I fear.

 

that was the line from the oil filter housing to the thermostat, the one I got was no kink. I did it on a lift and when I installed It took a hard twist to install but fit great
