Are both mufflers gone?? Primary and Secondary??
I run a "Primary" bypass pipe and it sounds lovely. Not quiet,....not loud. Seems to give it a little extra punch.
I also add two gallons of 100 Octane to every full tank of gas.. We can only get 91 Octane here in California and I've found a noticeable difference when I blend the two. According to the literature I have on these cars, the factory specified 93 octane.

I know man I will. if I convert it back to factory I have to completely remove the whole cage (looks cool with it though now that I can go in and out with ease without removing the quick release Momo), and what about the 4pt harnesses, the lap timer, the fire suppression system?

Just verified from the Master Tech both primary and secondary mufflers are intact and no resonators from the factory. Good news is I was informed that underneath is mint and bone dry and has new brakes. They'll need some special tools to perform all the open recalls either they have to borrow from other dealers or order it from the factory. Compression test should be done today including new plugs and all fluid changes, oh and maybe belts while they are there.

That doesn't really make sense, if the primary and secondary are "intact" then it has resonators.

not really familiar with this but the advisor told me you have the mufflers but no resonators. Looks like the exhaust tips are titanium, I have a lot to learn about these cars

Final result of the dealer visit will be posted next week with photos as soon as she's out of there but so far she had all fluid changes and plugs (wires are all good!) and good compression test . They are expediting parts coming from Germany as part of the recall. Can't wait!

Well, unless you consider what is commonly referred to as the "primary muffler" a resonator, the 964 never actually came with a resonator. Just a cat, primary muffler, and secondary muffler. Did the Cup exhausts have resonators the standard cars did not?

Good point, not sure where you would put resonators on a stock exhaust though. Maybe he just meant it was stock and didn't have headers with resonators.

The 44 (or 45 depending on how you count) US Cup Cars came with the same exhaust system as a normal US 964.

I've never figured out definitively what the Cups really ran in the series, either the various Carrera cup series or the Supercup. I've seen some talk about a one piece setup that replaced the primary & secondary mufflers, but I've never seen one in person. My cup came with some form of primary & secondary bypass, and a gutted cat, but I have no idea when this was put on.

While we have all the Cup guru's in one place, here's a question I've been trying to figure out for a while: What length wheel studs did they run to accommodate the 23mm rear spacer for the original 9.5" Cup wheels?

I have a Carrera Cup Parts List from Porsche Motorsports, which I received when I bought one of my US Carrera Cups (964). I don't know if this helps, but the parts in 1992 were as follows:
Based on my tech manual from Porsche Motorsport, the 993 Cup 3.8 had this note as the exhaust "Racing system with lambda control catalytic converter".
On both of my 993 Cups, the catalytic converters had been gutted, which makes me think that was a normal thing the teams did for the series.
The 993 3.8 Cup had centerlcoks.
- 21mm spacer PN 477 501-701
- wheel studs PN 911 331 671 00.
- Frt wheel 965 362 126 00 8x17
- RR wheel 965 362 128 05 9.5x17

I think most "Andial" prepped cars had both Primary and Secondary mufflers replaced with bypass pipes and they left the CAT's "Original" and in place. It wasn't until the cars fell onto the open market (after the cancellation of the series), when you saw the CAT's gutted in an aftermarket fashion. I also believe this is when the "One Piece' muffler system was created (again, an aftermarket system).

I have a lot to learn about this car and I thank everyone for chiming in I should get her back end of next week and she'll undergo a concours type of professional detailing (around $1500). I also noticed that the car has a frontal PPF that preserved the bumper and hood from road debris.
