Thanks for all the suggestions fellow Rennlisters, at this moment it's kinda pathetic and friends are complaining because there's no passenger seat lol! whatever temporary seats I choose it has to accommodate the racing harness that's currently in the car. I do appreciate everyone's input as there's so much selections and I'm learning along the way. I might hit the Radwood event this Saturday (Milville, NJ) for its 1980-1990s themed car show PCA will have a booth there and executive Nguyen as well as folks from Porsche Panorama will be in attendance. I'm hoping the detailer wil be done by Friday.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...p-tribute.html

It is however done very well, and someone looking for a very nice, clean C2 driver with all the goodies, I'd say its a good buy!! I'm tempted

Exactly. It sold fast cause it was priced for a quick sale. On BAT it would have been $80k like that POS Martini car.

2Swoosh,
Congratulations on your purchase. I own #559 and love the car! It would be great to get a group of CUP USA owners together if anyone is interested. Please post some photos of how it came out with the ceramic coating and Film. Is anyone else putting film on the front of their cars?

Maybe you guys should reimagine the original Cup series in the U.S. Hit a few tracks together!

My car has 100% of it's original paint and still has lots of luster and sparkle. I don't believe it needs any coating or film to be applied to the original paint surface. Call me a purist, but I haven't convinced myself this is a good idea, and feel perhaps this may effect the value in the long term. OFF TOPIC HERE, and of little concern to those of use who use their cars for the purpose they were intended for, but don't concour judges frown on NON FACTORY coatings that are applied to older cars?

I tried to gather those cars and owner's I know of for last years Rennsport Reunion in Monterey, CA. but didn't get much of a response. I did a few track laps in my car and fell in love all over again. My car isn't a re-converted race car, but I'd still love to go out and mix it up with the big boys. The model 964 is being featured once again at Rennsport in Monterey this August. With enough planning, (and cars), I'm sure we can convince the powers at be to get a some track time and the all important track photo???

Hello Burzell55, I went to check my car out this past Thursday and I just can't believed how it looked! Took them 2 weeks and just 90% done but I didn't complain since it's been raining here everyday anyway so maybe this coming Monday she'll be home. My car has a PPF half of the bonnet and whole bumper (from previous owner) so I told them just leave it alone that's why with 23.6k miles on the odo there's no rock damage to the bumper or hood, however, there's 4 tiny cracks on the windshield that were fixed by Safelite when it was at the dealer. Photo session is my next step then she'll be on the road. Right now I'm still on the fence whether to put her back 100% factory stock; remove the cage (no sidebars), remove the racing harness, fire suppression system, etc... or just leave it alone and buy a pair of decent sports seats and reinstall the factory seatbelts. Currently the car has a cage without the sidebars and looks very good.

I would love to have a get together of the surviving 964 Cup Cars or a Registry to see what's left out there. I could contact Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to see if they're interested to host the event. Check out Simeonemuseum.org kinda interesting story and they have a couple of Porsches (a 70 911 and a 917 LH) as part of their 65 car collection. They're big on cars with racing history not a typical boring museum and the curator is really cool.

How were these cars numbered? I didn't think they made anywhere near 559 of them.

There were 44 white cars plus one red car. He's referring to the last three of the VIN.
