Default Need help identifying this sensor

May the rennlist gods forgive me but I was not able to locate what this sensor is or where it goes through searching.

I know it's not one of the two reference sensors.

Pulled the cylinder head and turbo and had both rebuilt. Then I started on the "while I'm in there" path and 4 years later I'm getting really close to having my baby back together.

Without further ado....
(btw, none of these pictures are mine. I borrowed them.)

Not my car #1. It's a 928, I know, but the sensor looks exactly the same and best pic I could find.

Here we go, this is where I'm currently at and...this is IS mine.

So please, what is it, where does it attach to and is it connected to anything? I don't remember it being connected to anything.

It goes to nothing. It bolts to the rear lifting eye on the back of the cam box. Its a test/ diognostic port I believe or something to that extent.

It's a diagnostic plug used by dealerships, IIRC for checking the CO (idle mixture) in places where there is such an emissions test.

Ah... thank you guys very much. I thought it didn't go anywhere but I greatly appreciate you confirming that. There's so many things I've forgotten.

Wow. Crazy Eddie replied to my post. I feel like a celebrity has graced me with their presence. haha...but seriously. I wasn't familiar with you until that "Sterling Silber" article back in June 15 and then as I'm Google image searching I see your pictures everywhere now. Great article. Kudos to you and your dedication.

Anyways, thanks again guys. I try to dig as much as I can before creating a post. I'm hoping to back on the road in the next couple months.
