Default New SPEC 944T Clutch Teaser

We are a close to being able to share with you pictures and information regarding the new Push Type 951 clutch we had asked SPEC
to develop and produce earlier last year.

A few weeks ago it moved to the top of their engineering to-do list and the project shifted into high gear.

We were notified just this morning that the final component will be coming off the machines in the next day or two.

This unit eliminates the clutch fork and slave cylinder which are both problems as you are aware from either the failure or availability side.

Stay tuned for a very unique and needed item for the 951.

We will have kits available and in stock and the web site will have all the information to answer your questions in the coming days.

What are the experiences with multiplate one you had them develop and is it still available?

The Mini Twin "multiple one" is available as well. You would have to ask the ones running them about their experiences, but we haven't seen or heard of any negatives or any problems with them not functioning as advertised.

If you want something to hold gobs of power and a super light fast shifting clutch, then it's to only choice. It's pretty on/off engagement, so a daily driver is not the likely customer.

We broke two clutch forks at the track the same weekend once. That never happening again is appealing in itself.

It's only for the 944 Turbo. It looks like you're turboing your NA?

Eliminating the clutch fork and that soon to be obsolete throwout bearing is a huge step forward for these old cars

Shell is na, everything else is 89 turbo, engine is a mix of 2.7 block, 3.0 crank, 968 head , h rods and andial pistons.

At the moment clutch I have is made of patrick motorsports clone 4.3kg fw, new sachs stock turbo s pressure plate & bearing and turbo cup disc lined with kevlar.

Stock pressure plate is the part Im not too sure about though.. Would hate to replace it after I put it together..

Interesting stuff! Didn't but my slave cilinder yet and the fork is still the old one.. Might be a good idea for my SPEC stage 3 clutch (951 clutch and cup FW)

Perfect timing Dave! My clutch is starting to slip and was looking for a solid street replacement kit fairly soon. What exactly is the ship date ? I would like to worm burn the current because a Macan almost..almost got ahead of me for a second.

Regarding the mini twin it's been working great in my race car for 2 seaons and held up the latest dyno session with 672 rwhp just fine.

Duke,
Have you done any modifying to the twin disc LR/Spec Clutch assembly?
Lighten it?
60-2 wheel?
Starter Ring and or boss re-machine or removal?
Lightening holes in flywheel?
Thank you,
Max

I'm interested regardless, but I would be even happier if the kit worked with a stock flywheel (heavier).
Or maybe Spec can make a stock-weight FW reproduction?

It would be nice with a smaller starter ring and reposition the starter but that would require a new custom made bell housing.

I added 36-1 trigger pins on it but I wasn't totally happy with the look on the waveform so now I'm running a front trigger instead.

I've ran it these 2 seaons without any mods on the FW but it will be lightened a bit for this season. With my seq box it's better to loose as much weight as possible in the rotating assembly.

The flywheel with starter ring is 4384 grams.
