the 2.5 engine has had a rougher ride getting in range of the big hp number in your post.

Duke, is probably, the current reigning king.... running, I believe, a 3.0 engine.

this guy built one that someone could ostensibly, argue as being fairly close to the practical limit for the 2.5 liter (imo).....

I thought the best builder was John Milledge? He supposedly built a dynoqueen with 1000hp.. But that's just a story i've heard!

But you're probably right, you haven't seen it done so it's totally not possible.

In the original post he does make stipulations, that he was going to keep the stock turbo, not two giant blowers. He also stated that he was going to use a 944 block, not a v6. Anyone that has made anywhere close to the top of the list(which I will post below) did not use a k26/6.

In summation, apples to oranges... The 800+ hp claim will be refuted below

As stated previously, Josue would benefit more if he has seen what others have done and learn more about the car before making the age old "how much hp?" post. That has been posted and can be searched easily enough and the same is true for a k26/6 compressor map.

Corleone's build was awesome, and it sucks to hear that it was stolen. As stated by Paully, it was a 3.0 and made 560 wrhp as per the chart. Not with a stock k26/6 either. In fact if this list to to be believed Special Tool's build, which has more horse power than Corleone, only made 602 to the wheels... Not with a k26/6.

Duke's build has also been documented. @ 1.5 bar he made 514rwhp. This is with a 3.0L 16v.

Alan 91 C2- The JUICE was indeed loose.

It was, "Doomed" from the start. Google for fun. In case slightly deficient: Google: Bob Norwood Doom Video Porsche. Didn't try it, but likely will find keen relevance.

I think I'm the best 944 engine builder simply because my last motor didn't blow up before I sold it. how often does that happen??

With the stock turbo, you may get 400 hp, with about 30lbsof boost, right before it blows the head gasket and starts throwing rods at you like a freaking howitzer. It you are using the stock turbo, your other mods are irrelevant, so you may as well just add a real boost gauge and a manual boost controller, and turn it up until it blows. Then build a high hp car with a REAL turbo.

PS and READ! The amount of info available here will answer your question a thousand times over if you take the time to read it.
