People Running 4" Compressor Inlets???
I am trying to figure out what steps are needed to run a 4" compressor housing. I mounted my 3" yesterday and even though I have the smaller Nissan alternator the coupling is resting on the alternator. There is no way a 4" will work. I am curious what others did to get around this issue.

Oh yeah, and because I'm tuned SD, there is no MAF pipe in that area to take up room.

Have you got that bracket to sit the alternator on. I thought it also positioned the smaller alternator in a lower position?

I run SD so no MAF pipe. But I have a 4" inlet, 4" piping to a K&N filter behind the side market light. I'll try to get some photos. I have the quest alternator, AC and power steering.

Use the AC delete bracket to relocate the alternator to where the AC compressor is. This is a easy method which let's you use true 4 in plumbing. They make stock brackets and Lindsey offers one too.
Or you could mill the turbos inlet to shorten it up maybe?

Is that super ideal...possibly not...Is it going to mean you won't have a split faced grin on your face when you plant your right foot...definitely not!

I will not drive a car without A/C, sorry not going to happen. I will spend however much it takes to make it work with the A/C still operational. This is not a race car. It is a chic magnet and chic's don't ride in cars with no A/C!

Agreed, in hotter climates using a car without A/C is pain and it takes half of the fun of driving a fast car away if you sweatduring drive.
But most of the time over here it is not that bad, it is just few weeks in mid-summer when temps are 30-35C range.
And chicks definitely ride here in cars without A/C

Who needs AC when 944 is so good aerodynamically that you can drive around 200km/h with both windows rolled down
