Default New TIAL GTX (Garrett center dual BB)3582 R Stainless V Band

A pic of TIAL/Garrett's SS housing installed in my car. This unit has TIAL's HTR wheels and Garrett's dual BB center section. The new engine mount/turbo oil drain is a work of art - pictures to follow.

Lart is sending me all the factory turbo cooling components, arriving tomorrow! Should have it running this week.

I've included some pictures of my buddy's M3's. The blue one's 3.4 motor puts down 385 hp at the wheels. Bad *** NA motor!

Thanks Lart!

George

More pictures of the GTX 3582 R vs Precision 6262. The first pic has the TIAL motor mount/turbo mount with oil drain. This was designed by our own fellow Rennlister, Sean Martinez!

What's the difference with the HTA wheels and GTX wheels?

I believe the HTA wheel is billet (correct if wrong, the GTX wheel is not?) and has slightly improved aero.

Google: Copy/Paste

Product Description
The FP HTA GT3586R turbocharger is based on the world renowned Garrett GT Ball Bearing structure. This fact assures the highest strength and longest service life possible. At Forced Performance, we have long recognized the precision and excellence in manufacturing found in the full line of Garrett Ball bearing cartridges and turbochargers, and this is exactly why we choose Garrett over others manufacturers when we build our custom application HTA units.
This 62mm inlet / 86mm exducer HTA wheel extends mass flow well beyond 75 lb/min with observed power output in the 730+whp range on well prepared cars. This turbo is available with a variety of turbine housings, but using anything smaller than a .82 is stupid.

They are both billet, the difference is one is Garrett OEM , the other is aftermarket , FP = Forced Performance

IMO , the 951 does not rev high enough and can't take the high boost these new wheels require , actually they produce slightly more lag but make it up on top , overall the benefits for the above reasons are limited on this platform .

The HTA spools up better than a gt3582, it has less lag, makes more power. It works great with a 3L 8V.

I'm considering almost the same turbo swap (6266 to GT35). Did you have to make changes to the exhaust?

I did write "IMO" , you do t have to agree with it.

For reference , a ***** out build like your 951 Evo revs easily past 8500 at 30 + psi and performs the moneyshot there... Tials 770 Audi B5 turbos utilize to the best of my knowledge aHTA wheel and perform best at around 8k rpm at 30+ psi.. nobody here revs repeatable above 8 k or runs 30 psi..even if you would weld the head it would sel destruct quickly, so , I do stand by my opinion.

While you're right in theory, it's not a super concern. Even though it won't be in the absolute 'meat' of the turbo, it will still perform very well. There's enough of us running GT and GTX35s where they work very well. I wouldn't have any worries about this doing the same on George's car.

I never said it would not work and it is certainly way better than that antiquated KKK stuff but the absolute sweet spot on these turbos is, again IMO . not achievable on this platform.
