Some crazy fast times if they're into the 1:15's around Mantorp but remember they're even more unlimited by rules and run on soft slicks vs Gustaf on R spec rubber. That Valtonen car is insane but it's not far off full tube frame. http://www.speedhunters.com/2014/07/...e-time-machine

For Gustaf's car to be anywhere near this car is simply outstanding!

The low 1:15 is a new record for non open wheelers. It was set with a 997 RSR with GT3 R body which makes the aero on this car looks tiny:
http://www.gtspirit.com/2010/12/13/o...7-gt3-rsr-evo/
To top it off it has a turbo engine, closed loop paddle shifting and new slicks. It's around 1170 kg wet so it's surprisingly light too

The Valtonen RX7 (http://www.speedhunters.com/2014/07/...valtonen-rx-7/) is an extremely impressive machine. Their best time on soft slicks (300 front, 320 rear) was a high 1:19 on Saturday and then on Sunday without noise limits and ~900 hp it set a high 1:17. That my car can get close to that on R-specs with less power is mind blowing.

Here's the full lap from when Alx set the record

That car, along with other completely crazy builds, run on the Gatebil events which are a big circus. I tend to want to separate these two things - racing and partying - so I don't race on those events
Mostly because the track is like crap due to all drifters and scrap cars running around spreading parts all over the track. I heard reports from this last event that some guy (in a high end race build) run over a brake caliper than was just laying around on the track lol! I also heard reports of body parts piling up around the track. The best example was a wing with broken uprights laying around... the uprights were made of.... plywood

Side note - as far as I know none of those 1000 hp tube frame crazy cars on slicks have run a better time than my car's 1:19.348

That's really fast indeed. In fact so fast that RaceRender stopped at around 1:45, the moment he finished the lap. Most likely a timewarp hyperspace gate issue. And seriously - is the seat that soft, or was it loose that run? Looks pretty disturbing..

The following lap was 6 tenths quicker just one third into the lap but then he had to lift off due to a vibration he was unsure of. Too bad!

Race sets flex surprisingly much if you put on camera on them. Especially with high cornering forces. The seat is bolted on rails and that add extra flex. But it's not something you can feel when you drive the car. Everything is boltad as solid as it can be. (The seat is a Sparco Circuit)

Heard some people have good things to say about the new Precisions. I have to say that we're pretty happy with the GTX35 so far. All indications are that they like to be boosted above 1.5 bar too. We haven't gone there yet but hope the new O ring / head gasket might allow us to run a bit more boost and get into the meat of the turbo.

Here is a pic of a Precision Billet wheel, ball bearing shaft turbo in my car. Nice response with a quick spool.

Love all the new 951's being built around the world!
