However, if the supply of those parts dries up, the good news is it is very simple to put a different TOB in it's place. The nice thing about designing around the Solstice GXP unit is it's pretty large, so there is ample room in the bellhousing to put an adapter plate and a smaller TOB (such as the VW 07K TOB), or any of a myriad of aftermarket TOB's.

Really great project. with the successes Audi earned in the '80s,
i oft wonder; if only Porsche and Audi had come up with a world class effort
for a high displacement 5 cylinder (maybe w/ variocam) for as a focused
replacement to the 944 and 928 moving forward.
looks like the proper family evolution for the 944 becomes reality in this case.

Although not high displacement, I would argue they did quite well working together in the creation of the Audi RS2!. Now able to be legally registered in the US.

Not yet, but it’s going on the widebody car. I didn’t realize this was you!

yup, i'm that guy...curious to know how it ends up working for you.
i was concerned it'd block flow to the rad but since then have seen a number of folks not reporting any issues.

I THINK it should be fine. Then again, I am going to be running an aluminum rad and doing some serious ducting for cooling and aero
