It's pricey, but it does have some historic pedigree.

Another (similar) one was for sale ~2 yrs ago for 70K: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...ns-am-car.html The Paul Miller car may have been the "father" of the 944GTR as proposed by Al Holbert.

The problem is where to race it and what class would it be in.
While legal in all the clubs, it is a tube frame car.... which bumps it into a class where you have 1000+ HP cars.

I agree, on one hand it's actually great value. On the other, what to do with it? It's old world aero too but you wouldn't want to change this car I doubt.

Just not sure if you'd want to be making changes to a classic...for what it's worth?

It sort of is....
The head and block were similar but different castings from the production pieces. The pistons, rods, crank, valves, valve springs, were not production. It is dry sumped, and solid lifters on the valves ( note the access holes on the cam carrier).
It's a real race engine not a beefed up production engine.
It's a great car worth every bit of $120k.

Some aero would be fairly trivial to add on. Plus you'd just make molds of the factory body work, then put a knock-off set on with the changes and go race.
The only real issue is getting slicks in the sizes that are on the car now and brake pads for the calipers. That might have to change a little.
But again... my only concern would be who I'd have to race against being a tube frame car.
