Seems that none of the usual suspects have caliper rebuild kits for the 951 (non-S) anymore.
Any leads?
Thanks,
Collin

Not sure, actually. Haven't pulled them apart yet.
(a) what's the difference (always thought they were the same thing)?
(b) how does this affect things?

Yeah I looked into RockAuto (I think there is a thread here somewhere that I started, talking about it...)
Their dirt cheap rebuild service is only if you need rubber parts. If any of the pistons have any pitting, then they send the whole caliper back. If your calipers have never been rebuilt you will probably need a piston or two.
Oh and the difference between "scrapers or boots", is mainly the price. The newer calipers use dust boots. The caliper itself has a lip machined into it, and the piston is different, to let the boot attach. If you have the newer "boot" style then rejoice because rebuild kits for those are dirt cheap. But I think the only 944-style car that came with the "boot" style were the non-M030 968.
Pretty sure Zeckhausen is where I got my rebuild stuff. Site looks familiar anyways.

he is a dealer for a lot of stuff he does not list on his site. I think he may only list the stuff he makes in the site. but he had them, I've bought several sets from him

I made the mistake of buying poisons from them. they were steel. so no brake parts from there for me!
