Not much. It's a Dubai car....doesn't like rain! Have just spent the last month installing a much bigger air intake to try and get rid of restrictions to the supercharger. I succeeded but trouble is now it sounds like a demonic banshee from hell. Have spent last few days trying to make it quiet enough for a run at Lakeside today. I have to get intercooler and manifold sorted out to maximise power -Based on my times I figure I need 400whp minimum to compete properly in Sports Sedans so concentrating on finding the extra 40hp at the moment. Thus my interest in Sean's intake. Plus I need a wet tyre setup...

It's just that there is not much space at the back if you come straight out and add a trumpet and still try to have enough clearance to the inside wall of the plenum. LR and SFR plenums all taper in and seem too narrow back there to give clearance inside the plenum for number 4. Moving the AOS is probably needed. Deleting the brake booster would be better, or angling all the runners forward. I'm interested to see what shape Sean's plenum is and how tight it is in the end.

I have a feeling its going to be tight, but Patrick is also on the right track. The AOS will stay but we are using the relocation hose from lindsey, we will gain quite a bit of room with it. http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Parts/OILFILL.html

How did you weld the aluminum to the magnesium/aluminum intake pieces? Or rather, how did it go?

Sure, but the point I am trying to make is that this lack of space becomes irrelevant as soon as you direct the 4th runner (and the others) towards the plenum inlet, which is the case if the TB is located closer to the front end of the engine than to the rear end.
As far as I can see, using trumpets with long runners is only going to create issues, and I don't see how they would bring any significant advantage over a properly tapered plenum flange. The only other guy on here I saw using trumpets on a custom intake was Corleone but he also used very short runners.

(just a side note, I also have trumpets in my short runner intake)

Your going to laugh Thomas, but im having trouble getting a 3.25" al donut. I have one back ordered at our local aluminium supplier. apparently its not a common size. What are the options for throttle bodies? is there a larger TB that fits the stock TPS and throttle cable?

I am pretty sure you can use the porsche 928 TB . Tps will work but you may want to adjust the cable.

86.5 928 TB IIRC is 3" and uses the 944NA TPS, but they should be interchangeable.

I used the 928 tb on my old intake. Worked very well. So did Special Tool. It's fun to bring that name up.

I actually bought Bruce's 928 TB, I would sell it, my car is running too well, so the TB has been sitting on the shelf.

What size is the TB on those cars? Think 70mm rings a bell or was that a later model?

David - If no one else takes it, I am definitely interested.
