Ya know...I wanted to do ITBs cause I love the M motors. I have two other 968 intake manifolds I planned to do an intake like this one but with the top or bottom plate removable so I could add various length bell mouths to see what kind of effect. Inside the intake plenum of the V10 M5 the have minimal space but have bell mouths at 90 degree angles that face various directions which then completes the runner length. Figured with the plenum volume we have we could do something similar but angled toward the throttle flange.

Wanted to get the car running with this one (a purchased cut up re-welded SFR manifold)

The openings are belled inside the manifold but no like you would want...2-4 inches of runner with a bell could be added that have nice bells though. (Intake manifold #2)

The E throttle has some interesting possibilities. You can calibrate how it opens so you can have a very non linear opening rate - great for huge throttle bodies!

With a lot of tuning you could increase the spooling characteristics by not allowing a sudden opening of the throttle. Most turbos respond better to a smooth opening of the throttle - an abrupt change in the pressure is not the best thing for turbos.

If you really want to get carried away (and have a ECU that is capable) you could program in some anti lag features that allow the throttle to be open with lots of timing retard - no power but a lot of heat...good to keep the turbo spinning (also pretty harsh on the exhaust and turbo!)

I had hoped to get as much of the non-tuning stuff done (what I am good at) and then enlist someone like yourself (hourly of course). I have always liked reading what you have to post even though I don't post much I read a lot.

Actually Chris, when you told me about the bellows, while doing that I came upon the e-throttle idea, so it is thanks to you if it works as well as you make it sound. The ECU will control 1 or 2 actuators or e-throttles and found a guy that used one. EBay is good for the boxster throttle pedal assembly and sensor. Really, locating the sensor in the engine compartment say inside the brake shield, one could use the existing 944/968 throttle cable.

Yes, you should create a thread of your own and post up a bunch of stuff about your car which I'm sure is very interesting. :-)

Not sure if you remember but we talked about this project maybe 6-7 years ago (333pg333). When I get a chance I will post how our conversation caused me to think twice about a few things and changed direction at the time. Scared the hell out of me actually with pics of scored cylinder walls. Same project just changed direction so many times. Almost complete and I will post specs...They kept changing as I went along
