New cam is ready to go but I am waiting on the new head. Stock springs cannot handle the new cam 0.525" intake lift. New head is still at the shop. I will have some cool stuff to share soon as I found some new springs (using OEM retainers) that increase seat pressure a bit and allow up to 0.550" lift
Hoping to start the install of the head by Feb 1st and Dyno by March 1st.

The head I got from him has titanium springs, but not sure the specs on them. Will get more info when i eventually disassemble the head.

Pulled the head off today as I am preparing to install the new head and cam. Cylinders look good. MLS looked better than I thought it would. The Cometic had two full years on it with 4 track days, a few trips to the drag strip and I run it on the street at 18-20 psi a lot. I have made 100's of 18+ psi pulls in the last two years.
The gasket looked perfect on the block side. On the head side, at cylinders 2 and 3, I could see things have moved a bit. No excessive wear or cracking however. I think filling the block makes a huge difference. This is with ARP studs torqued to 87 ft lbs.
Block Side
Head side at cylinders 2 and 3.

Is that a Web Cam your putting in ....? I have one but didn't relish the idea of having to pull it out for emissions testing, because I am sure it wouldn't pass he in CA ?? I have had it for years and it's just sitting here .. There are some minor lobe abrasions but I am guessing I could easily get them fixed.
Also, my car runs like its stock with the Vitesse Racing set up I have now ( well at least a idle and ease of driving) on the performance end, to me it's spectacular.. So I am not sure the trade off would be worth it ? .. I would love the hear your take on it if its the same cam ?
Good luck
Best regards

In GA after car is 25 years old, no more emissions
Ed - Cam is a high lift 0.525" IN, 0.500" EX, CEP cam. I will definitely give some feedback as I am planning a dyno run in early March.

That gasket looks pretty good under the circumstances Shawn. At least it should give you confidence that the block and tune has been working well for you.
Definitely let us know when you next dyno with the new cam!
