Wait until you move onto DOT or R spec rubber! I'm sure you will be onto some of these next season and really enjoy the step up.
Is the line coming out of your helmet a mic to the instructor? I used these once with an instructor and it was really beneficial I thought.

Wire was a mic setup for two way communications. Our local PCA provides them and they are a big help.

Not a great day It was about 40F and had a 25 mph head wind! Clutch started slipping. Anything past 15-16 psi the clutch slipped badly. Looks like I will be changing it out over the Winter. I am going to go to the last autocross next week and then start in on a few upgrades for next season. Going to change the clutch, install the new higher flowing head, and install a Turbo tranny. Then I will give it another go...

Low cost street/track suspension project. 28 mm torsion bars (cip1) for $134, Coil over kit (275 lb springs) from Paragon for $260, and refurbished late strut bearings from Josh B. Lowered the car about 0.75". Amazing results for the money. Highly recommended.

Thought I would share a bit about my Winter projects. My build never really hit my initial power goals (550) so this Winter I am going to try to make some more progress. I have learned a great deal on the flow bench about head flow and am applying the knowledge in a new 8V head. The head is self ported and uses 47mm intake valves from SI. I experimented with bigger valves but saw no real improvement due to shrouding in my 102mm bore. The new head uses the stock outer spring and a new stiffer inner spring (thanks Sid). The head should be done in a few weeks. When I change the head, I will install a new Cometic and that will give me a chance to inspect the current gasket. I have run this gasket for two seasons with no issues.
In addition, I bought Spoolin51's cam which is a reground late NA cam (using lash caps) with .525" IN lift and .500 Ex lift. The cam I believe was done by Dave McGrath (CEP). I emailed Dave about more details but have not heard anything back as of yet . I have spent a lot of time working out the details to safely run the higher lift.
With the new head and cam I think it will flow about 12-14 percent more. So back to the dyno in the Spring to make a run at 575 rwhp

Shawn, I initially sent Dave an email a while back when I was first interested in the cam, never heard back myself.
Lash caps are going out for you today. I will try to get to my shop to get you some more details on the head after the holidays. The valve stems were, however, 9mm.
