after driving a brand new yellow Stingray (with 180 original miles on it at pickup) for a few days here from Orlando to Daytona, and down the Space Coast to Ft. Lauderdale, I'm happy to report; I loved it.
but I think i'll like my v8 968 slightly more (w/ 40~50 extra ponies, and after the suspension is sorted, despite all the cool gadgetry and spectacular overall layout of the Vette).
this thing rides big.... well, it is big. the front is just sooo damn wide. I can hardly see over the fenders... I like the view of the road from the cockpit of my 968 a lot better. imo, the Vette is more a compact musclecar than a sports car. sure feels like it
mid-range power is very good, and the top end is great. still, I think the Camaro should feel about like this.... and the post-modern Vette weigh in a couple/few hundred pounds less. then this car would be it. the rear visibility is horrid, but it's a minor inconvenience when weighed against everything else.
i realize with all the modern safety features, it takes a lot of $$$$ to build a light supercar. still, it makes for a pretty spectacular daily driver. for me, it's about the biggest and heaviest thing I ever want to drive; a muscle car that handles like a supercar. yes, I want one.
my 0.02 on the new Vette.

thanks....
car was finished at the tuner around 9:30 this morning..... now that's service....
overall, I'd say the shake down is going well. there's a few minor issues to sort mostly only secondary to the swap.
drove it about 25 miles and it runs almost perfect....
the exhaust note with the 2 Borla resonators (1 right after the other in the exhaust tunnel ) then the Vibrant muffler out the back is really good.
when you get on it a little, the sound is MASSIVE but the volume not loud at all....
much less loud than the typical V8 swaps.
be honest this thing sounds BIGGER than I expected. bigger than an LS1 for sure.... more like a 427.
but, it spools up to 4000 rpm FAST and has a very sweet exhaust note!!! please pardon my excitement.

the installer is going to sort a couple of things...
I'm flying back to California.... hopefully be driving the car away from Texas in a 3-4 weeks.

with the suspension and brakes now sorted thanks to Doug Bray's fine work,
I thought it might be a good time to take her out for a real drive.
so, it would be fair to call yesterday, as the day she made her maiden voyage.....
drove the 968 up to Malibu and Santa Barbara..... from Rancho Cucamonga,
then back to the Inland Empire early this morning......
altogether, including ultra-epic/best day of the year surf conditions at Malibu, I put 160 miles on her....
the locals said, "that's it; no more watching. you surf or GO HOME."![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
next, they give me one of *Sarlo's boards - CRAZY!!!
I'm quite out of tune and I got a little bit worked in the pit... but I got me a couple.....
and speaking of out of tune,
she's got massive power, getting medieval on enemy motorists and 70-140mph blasts occur almost instantly.
I'm happy to report the car is absolutely insane on the curvy LA freeways.
however, w/ all the extreme heat we're having, the engine seems to be leaning out a bit.
with break-in now complete,
the car is going in for dyno-tuning at CBM motorsports/Rancho Guacamole this evening for an all-nighter.
not sure that it's going to be the perfect conditions, as the near record heat continues unabated.
but it'll have to do.... we're expecting 105F here today.![banghead](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/banghead.gif)
*Allen Sarlo - heir to Legend Miki Dora's throne as the present-day undisputed King of Malibu/Original Zepher/Z-Boys surf/skate team/former #2 ASP ranked (behind M.R. in the early '80s).

yes.... Eric Hill + Doug Bray. 2,000 miles and lovin' every minute. ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
in the past 3 weeks, we made a few tweaks to improve the airflow to the the radiator.
and now, down to zero hot engine issues....
latest impressions....![bowdown](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bowdown.gif)
