Yep....agree, I love this build.

I think I'd have any connections to rigid parts have a built in accordion type crush design....that way if the rear suspension/wheel or 1/4 panel takes a hit, it'd minimize the chance the transmission would get damaged.

In wheel to wheel racing, and surely just as likely, a sudden snap loss of grip or a "mechanical" in time attack...and contact is inevitable.

In the cars we race, late 944s, you can pre-estimate the cost per corner when a spin with contact happens.

On cars like yours, Tony's, Rod's, Duke's and a few others I know of that don't post here....that cost goes up exponentially. Hate to add a transmission like this or even the housing to that cost.

We're remaking the rear so that we have a crush bumper around the transaxle for that very reason.

Cool, looking forward to seeing it.

The V8 engine thing really isn't my bag but to diminish your car build by throwing it in with those adapted cars is like calling Mt Everest a hill..

Most of the conversions are just owners that threw their hands up and gave up but I've been around here long enough to know through all of your threads that you fought through as many trials as any 944T owner in the history of the car to make a fast 944T.

It'd be time consuming I'm sure.....maybe when you are done and comfortable with this car.....to go back and repost some of your early cars just to complete the story of how you got here.

Heck.....for all we know, you might have a 968 based DOOM engine on a stand, just about ready to reconvert this car.

Nothing you have done here is irreversible ya know.....

If I own the car long enough, there is a plan in place to use Porsche power down the road. The LSx engine was always a temporary power plant. Even the way the car is wired was in anticipation of changing to a different power plant.

But I do love the current LS7. A LOT. It's an amazing engine for so many reasons.
