I do feel like I'm out on a causal Sunday drive when I race now that i think about it.....

Remember while you're at a possible 2000rpm out of a corner the only time we see 2000rpm is when unloading the car off the trailer. We're certainly never lower than a reasonable tq number on track.

Haha...as I said, not disrespectfully but V8's by their very nature do allow you to run like a 3 speed and just use the stop and go pedals more than the clutch/shifter.

I still prefer the somewhat more involving little i4's. Extracting the laptimes we get out of these is highly satisfying. I can see for endurance racing how a V8 would make particular sense though.

Ok Tony, now that you have the beast, top it up by winning a podium, so you can show these four banger champs that the v8 rules, we really need at least one of the 944 v8 guys to win something.

The car with both fuel cells (the rear is quickly removable) and 12 gallons of fuel with driver just is 2840lbs. This is exactly how the car came off the track at the last race.

Take away the rear fuel cell and associated brackets/hardware approx 40lbs, the fuel 70lbs, and the suited driver 185lbs and the car should come in at just under 2500lbs.

The reason we had so much fuel in the car is because prior to the race, we tuned it to run E85 and ruined the capacitance ATL fuel level senders... a $400 mistake. We put new fuel level senders in, but did not have time to calibrate them. And we were busy setting up the car and didn't have time to mess with pumping all the fuel out and putting in just enough to race with. So we just ran with a bunch of fuel.
