Shout out to the people who brought this project to Pilk.
I spoke with corporate today regarding the decision to produce all the tops in Bronze.
They explained to me that the reason they made them in Bronze was because that was the color the people that brought the idea to them asked for.
They just did what they were asked to do.
They told me that all 800 were produced in Bronze and they were considering producing a batch in Grey.
Just thought I would clarify that for everyone.

The day of decision has come and gone. For the folks that ordered the tops, congrats my hard work paid off for you. For the folks that have chosen not to order a top for whatever reason, you missed the boat and I feel sad for that. For me, I was told my top ships on Wed or Thur. With a Nile Green car, the bronze top will be perfect. Funny thing is, my Son drives the car more than I do. The car has more power than I can handle, and every time I get in I drive like a nut. Best I drive the other car, more tame. Good luck to all and enjoy your tops.

Just curious as to why you chose Bronze instead of a more neutral color like Smoke/Grey.

I think that was the day went on they decided to scratch the first 100 and go with a discount for the day. Several members were still getting them near closing time while it was mentioned that they were slammed with orders which leads me to that guess.
I ended up getting mine ordered, waited since day one so I couldn't let it pass me by. I do wish to thank Matt Lane at Pilkington as well for top notch customer service and for all his assistance.

Oh well... maybe I'll get a grey one if they ever come out with one and keep my upcoming bronze as a spare.

Somehow, I KNEW this sort of post was going to show up right after their sale. This is why sometimes companies feel out the market before considering large bath production.

I am curious however how many tops were sold yesterday in total?
I'm betting 350 tops

I've decided to forgo buying a bronze unit since it wouldn't look right on my red '86 but if they come out with a dark tinted version I might buy one (if I still have the car).
