Yeah, I wonder if they can throw two in one box if we get the two... Hopefully they will chime in before tuesday.

Talking

Hey Guys,
I've been following this thread from afar for the least 12 months. I owned an original 944 back in 84,and always wanted a glass roof to lighten the interior. The release of the new tops by Pilks has prompted me to go out and buy a "new" 944T. (that's what we call them over here in the UK). It has put a massive smile on my face and I'm already planning upgrades and restorations!
I just wanted to say a BIG Thank you to all the Rennlist members who have worked so hard to make this happen|! On Tuesday morning I`ll be on the phone early to try and secure one. If any other UK members are looking for help with shipping, I bring at least one container a month out of Randolph, MA. I`d be happy to help where I can.

I think it's weird everyone is bummed about the bronze tint. Raise your hand if you've seen an original bronze tint Saratoga top, in person.

It really doesn't look very bronze. Frankly, it looks "right", to me, despite the fact the tint is different.

Maybe I have a bad eye, but I think that while yeah - I'd prefer grey, realistically it makes a very minor difference.

Side note - totally thinking about "bronzing" my windows to match

Raising hand!

I have, didn't like it. Whole reason I mentioned it in the thread when I saw they were only bronze.

I have too... I own a late model saratoga top and it looks like it was made that way. Doesn't make it look outdated in any way

While watching the football game I googled around and saw some pics of bronze tops...I hope these come with a Bee Gees 8 track tape too as to complete the look.

Sorry but bronze does not go with Guards Red no matter how much you want this top.

Why aren't they using this glass?

Pilkington Automotive is a market leader in the development of dark tinted automotive glasses, producing two suites of glasses that provide significant benefits to privacy, solar control and overall vehicle styling.

The Galaxsee glass suite is a major player in privacy glazing. It was initially developed for the North American market and now finds global applications. This grey glass has a low light transmission and an even lower transmitted energy value. In comparison to an optimised green glass that is used in the front of the vehicle, the transmitted heat to the interior of the vehicle is decreased by approximately 65%. It also absorbs, and thus prevents, more than 95% of damaging ultraviolet radiation from entering the passenger compartment. Consequently, this glass is increasingly the choice for dark tail SUV and MPVs, in addition to being suitable for sunroof and full area moonroof applications.

Sundym is a green/blue glass suite that has a light transmission in the range of 26-45% over a 3 to 5mm thickness range. This glass blends with the green front door glass to allow both a design choice and an improvement to solar loading (45% less heat enters the rear of the vehicle compared to the front door glass).

The market continues to adopt these glasses due to the valuable combination of both physical and aesthetic benefits.

So if you place dark titanium tint on the bronze glass what happens? Will that make it look like a normal tinted window? I hate bronze, especially on Glacier Blue.

It will make it look even more bronze and too dark to enjoy a glass roof.

I have a feeling the bronze tint will look good on a Zermatt Silver car, since in certain lights it has a gold-ish tone of its own.

I was set to buy one, and still may. Things have recently changed and I'm thinking about selling the 951 again. Not because I really want to, but because I'd like to see it get the attention it deserves - something that I haven't been able to do for a while.
