Default FOR THOSE SELLING PARTS ON RENNLIST

I have always taken a lot of pride in being a part of the 944 turbo forum on rennlist, in the dealings with fellow members, it has always left me with a pleasant experience. I have always believed that rennlist has a higher level of honor over the pelican forum where a lot of scammers prey on innocent buyers. My recommendation for new sellers specially young guys are;

1) when shipping heavy parts, make sure that they are packed tight because during transit heavy parts swift and cause damage to other parts.
2) please when selling state the true condition to the best of your abilities
3) Take CLEAR pictures and post pictures on your for sale threads
4) let's keep rennlist honorable let's be honest about what we sell
5) if you have parts that look like junk, smell like junk, they are most likely junk.

Thanks

lart

very well said. I think rennlist should have a rating system to buyers/sellers. pm sent.

So we shouldn't use other people's pictures? And lie about the condition just to get top dollar for a part that belongs in the trash?

Well then, I guess it's back to the drawing board....

Great points...having sold and bought many items off forums...ebay...and other sites I have experianced the good and scams..

There is nothing worse than expecting someting you are looking forward to only for it not to come or arrive not as described. I always do my best when selling online but I know I will be around these parts for years to come..some are only trying to make a dollar

Having purchased from a few people on Rennlist I can say I have had very positive experiences

I have bought a few things of RLers and it's always gone great. I even bought something off Lart on ebay without knowing he was an RLer, as I had just bought car and just joined RL. Of course that transaction went V well too

+1. Before my Porsche days, I frequented a forum that had this, and I must say, I had MUCH better experiences there than here. I've only been scammed once here, and Paypal did refund my $300 (2 months later), but I have had SEVERAL people flake out who had committed to buying something.

I am going to court with a lawyer against a RL member for gross misrepresentation of a listing. Very sad day.

I've had good luck buying and selling on RL so far, everyone has come through and I'll do it again. I will say that some items bring better money on eBay than RL simply because RL members are typically more up-to-date with trends and developments related to our older p-cars. For example my D90's got no interest here, but I got what I was looking for on eBay.

Yeah I've only had great experiences with rennlist so far... Lart was a class act. I suggest if you're going to rip someone off, do it the right way, through ebay and craigslist, not here on rennlist!!

Another + for Lart. He's #1 on my list to call when I need parts. Inexpensive, and always shipped quickly. I usually get parts the next day.
