*** For those of you looking to get a harness done (that don't want to do it yourself...) ***

My new car is at Jordon Innovations in Irwindale CA getting wired. This includes the Bosch ABS pump. Jeff (Jeff Jordon) does full mil-spec wiring and can make you guys a harness to drop in.

Now would be a good time for those interested as my car is still there which would allow him to take the necessary measurements.

Pin 15 should be fused 12V. I connected Pin 14 (stop light) to the stop light switch of the 968 ABS harness.

Pin 11 is signal line to the ODB plug. I wired in a an ODB plug but have never actually checked that it works. I have not had a single ABS issue in the year I have been using the 996 ABS (21 races).

Do you know if the 968 stop light switch is negative or positive?
Do you remember how you wired in the ODB plug?

On the boxster plug diagram it says Pin 14 is "(vehicle voltage when brake actuated)" so I believe it is a switched 12V signal. The stop light is pin 25 on the 968 plug.

I wired ABS pin 11 to pin7 of the ODBII plug (k-line). ODBII pin 4 is ground and ODBII pin16 is unswitched 12V. But again I have never verified the diagnostics actually works.

What rear brake proportioning valve did you use with this setup and the Big Reds? Right now I have an adjustable Tilton one, but I don't think it's supposed to be used with ABS...

Only one question mark left when it comes to the wiring. The ABS light, is it a negative or positive output?

I used a hydraulic Wilwood. Any adjustable valve that intercepts the line to the rear brake circuit (before the ABS) will work fine.

I think I've got mine working. Has anyone ever come up with an ABS activation light solution? Pin 29 will light up the mast caution light.

I did a conversion on an ABS equipped 968 by using the power wires from the original wiring loom to the pump, and then connecting everything else through a gutted ABS brain.
Here's an updated wiring list compiled from everyones work on this thread:

1. RR sensor ground connect to pin 26+
2. RR sensor signal connect to pin 24
3. —
4. RF sensor ground connect to pin 21+
5. RF sensor signal connect to pin 11
6. LF sensor ground connect to pin 6+
7. LF sensor signal connect to pin 4
8. LR sensor ground connect to pin 9+
9. LR sensor signal connect to pin 8
10. Instrument cluster processor (Only vehicles with EDL)
11. K wire ( to OBD connector pin 7 )

14. Stoplight switch — connect to pin 25
15. Power to unit - connect to black and blue wire on 944 harness at pump
16. Ground ABS return flow pump - connect to pump mont ground point

If you a get an ABS unit with lines attached, and a proportioning valve, the only plumbing stuff you’ll need are two unions for the Euro style brake fittings. You can take the detachable portion of the 996 valve off and put on your 944 unit.
Pumps that are known to work 996.355.755.00, 996.355.755.03, 996.355.755.04 I'm guessing the .02 would work also.

I've been working on this. Mine was not an ABS car originally, so I've switched to a smaller battery and installed the Boxster ABS pump in the freed space.



The hydraulics are inserted at the bulkhead fitting. Wiring is all connected and I do have the ANTI-LOCK light working in the dash. I have not tested the actual system yet as I have a few other things to do before the car is drivable. Here's my diagram.



For the light in the dash, I found that pin 1 of the 4-pin connector behind the glove box takes switched ground to turn-on the ANTI-LOCK light. Pin 21 of the Boxster ABS unit switches ground for the light, so that worked out easily.
