My car is an 87 without ABS. I looked today and what is needed from the ABS sensor to the ABS pump?
My brake pad warning cables look exactly the same as the ABS cables? Do i need something more here?
Cables are not the same. Unfortunately on non ABS cars factory installed only wires for brake pad sensors, even those white "blocks" have a possibility to connect ABS sensors there are no wires. Checked this out today from son's 1987 project 951, only wires for pad sensors. So, you must install also wires for ABS sensors. I suppose drill & tap method can be used, since there are obvious places for sensors.
In case anyone is interested, I planned to make harness so that I take old connector from junkyard and remove old pins and wires and just crimp new pins on.
I am planning to put the ABS pump near the wiper motor, where 944 fuse box sits so if others plan to use different location wire lengths will need to be altered (the best solution is to leave ABS sensor connectors not crimped and have end user to put them on after pump is installed).
