Ok, still having issues with my ABS system. Got the right plug from Oklahoma Foreign for my Boxster ABS pump/ECU and have it wired in. Got the "antilock" light on my cluster to light up now. (After replacing a ton of cluster bulbs some previous douchebag owner removed)
Now the "antilock" warning light isn't going out and the ABS brakes aren't working. WTF!
My suspicion is the antilock brakes on the car never worked and the previous owner pulled the bulb to hide the fact they were broken.
Reviving this thread. I am looking into boxster abs for my 968 Turbo S replica.
Question is if this pump will work. It has a 2 row pin connect or but with an additional small 3rd row kinda like a updated 2 row connector pump.
It has number 98635575527
From what I remember Tony G had some issues with this and abandoned it after a while. There may be some mention of that in this thread or he told me directly. It's been a while.
I think I saw someone else mentioning this perhaps on an FB thread more recently. Perhaps they've done it successfully.

Yes thanks Patrick I read that but it seems he got it sorted with a new pump in post 120? Also Eric seems to have been succesful with his V8 968.
Hopefully they can chime in and shed some new light to an interesting update to our cars that I am keen on.
I'm sorry but my memory fails me at times...well, most of the time...I think. But wasn't there an issue with the Boxter controller unit looking for the Boxter ECU? I think Tony was going down the path of using a different ECU and having it rewritten to try and trick the ABS unit.
You could reach out to him perhaps. Although don't see him in here much. I did see him pop up in one of Gustaf's post WTAC FB threads when there was talk about billet blocks. I thought this odd as he has diverted to the V8 for some years now. EDIT: I'd totally forgotten about Thom working on this as well. He'd be a good source to discuss this with.

Ahh ok! I got the impression it was integral in the Boxster pump so no control needed but as you say maybe it still needs info from the ECU.
I sent a PM to Tony when I posted here but no response yet. I am totally off the grid when it comes to social media so cant reach out there.
I had this working in my old LS 951 but I sold the car before I was able to get a real feeling for it on track. If you look up my old threads here and on the hybrids forum you might be able to see my posts on it.
Ironically the car is up for sale, the guy I sold it to is selling it.

I have had this ABS running successfully on the race car for 7 years. The only issue I've had is that a pump failed once and needed to be replaced.
I know there are a couple of other cars successfully using this locally too. If the car already has ABS, it is a pretty simple job of taking the wiring diagrams and mapping wires.
On the 968 every wire needed is already in the existing ABS connectors.
PF-your pump appears to have the pins for traction control. You really want an ABS only pump, no TC or PSM. I know 996.355.755.03 is ABS only, there are probably other part numbers that are good too.
You want a pump that looks like this:
This Boxster ABS pin diagram definitely worked for me.
I have moved mine to where the battery used to be:
