Patrick's build thread. (IT RUNS!)

^^Don't want to hijack Pat's thread any further. There are quite a few in-car videos links floating around in other threads. TV coverage of our series tended to focus only the leading class of GT cars, so I only have a few odd clips of the car running from the outside. One of these days I will get organised to upload a decent compilation.
Pat, I can't find the one where you are starting right behind the red-ish 911. That one rocks.
I'll post one more, just for fun...like the rest weren't. and we'll get back to your build.
send me a note on facebook, if you think I stole your thread. I tried to make it about YOU! bastard!
BTW, i think the new car will run circles around this Disimone guy!

Actually that video of Sean's was with the old 2.5L 8v motor. It was only marginally slower than his 3L 16v version so it was a great engine. He is very handy behind the wheel too. I'm not quite sure about the one you're referring too. Perhaps it's the one with the Red 996 GT2 that starts 2 cars ahead of me...when I had my magic (fully patented) weight shifting device and the internal smoke machine.
I think we should have a sticky at the top of this forum for people to be able to put their videos or links in. Who does one ask about that nowdays??

In case you guys think you are fast, here's Brumos Racing's Grand Am defending Champion, Leh Keen, (known as "King Leh" here on rennlist) at this years 24 hours of Daytona. I KNOW PPG won't mind, and may not have had the chance to see it. I live here in town with the team, so we get it all.

BUT THIS ONE is MUCH BETTER!
Listen for the police siren! Same drover! Leh Keen!

Watch the vids and shut up!

Ha, yes I saw both. Leh's a cool guy and great steerer. Even though it was a Junker race he was pulling some great moves by comparison to the others. The Rolex stuff is a great perspective. Loved how casually he adjusted the mirror while on the bank at plenty mph! Fun to watch.

Hey Mark, how the hell are you? Long time.
Hope all is well with you.
A few D9 parts on the car. Would love to get the panel gap a bit better but I think it's mainly the Van Zweden hood that's the main issue. Still, for a track car it's taking shape.

Hi Patrick all is well mate but I've got man flu at the moment because of the poor weather over here at the mo (I've recently movedfrom the UK to Sweden - long story so will email you tomorrow with an update)
Loving your build thread ... just read it back to back as not seen it before - note to self, need to get back on RL more active again.
So it looks like the countdown to your first track day in GO 952 is near :-) can't wait to see your first vid at the track.
I dread to think how much coin is in your project now but I can guarantee when you turn the first corner behind the wheel it will have been well worth it :-)
Beni's race project is back underway again so will blow the cobwebs of the old thread I started shortly.
Best regards,
Mark

Yes, I'm very happy with the car so far. Thanks.
No engine change from the last time Paulyy. The good thing about that is being able to compare between Piggy back and ECU. Not to say that there is anything wrong with the Piggy Backs that are out there, but you would want to get some improvement somewhere in the curve when going to the trouble of changing over everything.

VERY nice. Good to see a properly built track car like this!
What spoiler is that? Is that just the bottom part of a 968 spoiler? What's the duct in the left rear? And where is your fuel cell? Do you have a custom fit one?
And are those defrost wires on the front windshield? I've never seen that. Must be a RoW thing
Anyway, great job. Fantastic craftsmanship. I like it!

Hey
Nice splitter :-)
You need at 2 vertical support rods running up to the lower aluminum bumper.... Without those it will flex considerably at speed on a stock front bumper skin. On a glass bumper skin, it will pull it apart and break the skin.
