According to turbonetics spec sheet the 60-1 is a to4b with a 4" inlet. The 2.75 inlet would be the t04b 60-1 hifi.

Ok, first things first: Your a ****ING IDIOT for assuming I don't know what turbo I own, or for thinking you know more then me. Don't make that mistake again, and you'll be ok. Your also a ****ING IDIOT for assuming I have a certain turbo just because I have a 2.75 inch inlet. An inlet size which is common among a dozen or so housings.
Ok, The 60-1 is a compressor wheel, nothing more and nothing less. PERIOD. The compressor housing, the turbine side, none of that has the vaguest thing to do with the reality of a 60-1. The 60-1 "hifi" is NOTHING MORE THEN A TURBO PACKAGE. What they do is they machine the back of the wheel slightly to be able to be an an B housing, but you end up with very little difusser area(where boost is actually created in a compressor housing.) You think a 60-1 HIFI is actually a different compressor?
I have a 2.75 inch inlet TO4E, this is the most common TO4E. Its .60 a/r. There have been .70 a/r TO4E but you won't find them, people didn't like them. They were not a bad design and they had a 4 inch inlet but they were goddamn ugly. I had a 60-1 turbo put into a TO4E custom because you get the mose diffuser area and it shifts your map as north as You can go and still fit in a DSM. I wanted to trap 130 mph at 30 PSI, not tow ****. Allow me to say this again...I had this turbo built custom, I didn't buy your little TO4B crap hifi combo which is basically the original way to get it to fit in a 4 cylinder, but not the best.
The typical 4 inch inlet 60-1 is NOT a B housing, its a actual 60-1 housing that was orginally designed for a 60-1. It has little diffuser area relative to the E and shifts your entire map south, hence making it better for lower boost. Still better then a B. It might be called a B series by turbo shops nowadays but it shares no relation to a regular B series and was designed with the 60-1 in mind.
There is NO TYPICAL B housing, I have seen about 6 different ones personally, and know of more that exist. .60 a/r is common, but there are many others.

The only think I've learned is this...
Garret needs to FIRE its product manager and marketing team and come up with better naming schemes for its products. Using weird little mixes of upper and lower case numbers, all meaning different things to different parts of the design... it's messed up. I wish they could come up something most simplistic.

I'm with Luke on this one. This isn't some sort of elitist club. Even if he wasn't a prospective Porsche owner, what is wrong with a fellow automotive enthusiast joining the discussion? I actually spend some time over on the forums at DSMtalk.com. No one has ever treated me that way, even though I don't own a DSM. New, different people present an opportunity for the diffusion of ideas, which can benefit all of us.
Having said that, ItsStockOfficer, chill out with the "F***ing idiot", man!
