Luke, this is a genuine question of curiousity and not a challenge...wouldn't the .6 be a smaller turbo than the .5? a .6 would indicate a smaller radius than the .5, correct? And, assuming this is correct, what does the "trim" refer to specifically (being as you have the 50 trim E with .6 a/r)

i have a 54 trim E ( that was what it was sold to me as, at least )

I thikn this is what is twisting most peoples minds ( including mine) I have never seen another 54 trim....

The 54 and 57 are ancient... I can't compain about B's being "inneffient" w/o saying the the 54 trim map is "OLD" compared to the 60 and 50 trims.... FOr example... the 50 trim flows more air.

THe .6 refers to the A/r of the housing. jUst like the hotside ratings...

Everything i've seen follows this pattern... the larger the ratio... the larger the casting...

T3's are around .48's it looks like...

Here is the stamping on the outlet

This better shows the tightness of the water tubes.

somethings not clickin' there guy

EVERYE i've found is a .6

Please find a B for me... or pics of a B housing w/ a stamp on it.

"TO4S: .70a/r

TO4b and TO4E: .60a/r "

here's proof that both B and E can be .6's

I"m prolly the Most curious here, because E is what I asked for and what I was told I was getting..... can anybody help other that speculation?

AHHHH...

here' I found this...

this is turbonetics 03' catalouge..

it states that the proper... "e" housing for a 54 trim has a 2.75" inlet...

"54 30376 133.00 2.170" 2.950" 30429 156.00 2.750" "

I"m gonna look for a part # tomrrow.

But if ;you check that list, you'll notice, both the 54 and 57 trims' the "rare" "OLD" ones have 2.75"'s .... all hte other E's are different.

i'm prtty sure mine is an E now.

nobody besides Sean and I have the 54 or 57 trims... those are the only E's that have 2.75" inlets... i beleive this is what is causing mass chaos and my lack of sleep.

These must be the only E's small enough to fit.

according to the cataloge you can get 2.75"
or 3" for any E housing...

are those turbonetics? I dont think anything else would apply because supposedly their castings are "unique" according to PT.

Any one have dyno results with an SFR stage 2 BB. I think that is the one I'm leaning towards. Thanks for all the great advice.

There a 3 E housings...the 2.25/2.75/3....I have a TO4E with a 60-1 compressor and a 2.75 with a .60 a/r, this is about all I can contribute. I have personally toyed with a TO4S with a .70 as well...

As for a B flowing as much as an E...Its not a matter of air flow, its a matter of tunning it to be effcient in your boost range. As Luke and others hinted at.

According to turbonetics spec sheet the 60-1 is a to4b with a 4" inlet. The 2.75 inlet would be the t04b 60-1 hifi.
Your just as stumped as the officer that pulled you over.
