Talking Which wastegate to buy??????

Hi All,
I'm in the process of doing the clutch, front/rear suspension(including torsion bars) and misc. other stff, to the tune of about $2500 dollars. My last piece is the wastegate and I have three options. Rebuilt dual port stock($200@sfr and $400@lindsey), delta gate, or 35mm Tial. Which one should I buy? Speed Force Racing also makes adapter plates that require no welding so the tial and deltagate will bolt up.
Thanks in advance for any replies,
Chris
crice30@excite.com
p.s. if I go with the tial or delta i will sell my stock unit if anyone is interested. works perfectly for a factory unit. pulled from my '86 951 with 41k. hits 13psi.

I HIGHLY recommend the Lindsey WG. I absolutely love mine. It's an easy fit/install too. I couldn't imagine a wastegate functioning any better

No doubt in my mind, Lindsey.
A bolt on, clean product that produces what it says it will do.

One note, you need to have a complete core. Lindsey, unlike other builders, make this clear in their web site.

The Lindsey WG (a modified stock one) looks a bit small to me. For the price, I'd pay a little more for the 46mm Tial.

depending on how much horsepower you planning on running in the future, i would go with either the 35mm or 46mm Tial WG from SFR...this way you can then sell off your stock WG that "works perfectly" and recoup some of your costs.

good luck!

There is not a better wastegate then the Tial 46mm!!!!! The design and the build qaulity is second to none(until we release our new SFR billet wastegate) and it is an easy bolt-on with our adaptors. The Tials and Deltagates require no core charge either. The only wastegate that requires a core charge is for the factory dual-port conversion.Sorry for not listing it on our website yet! At this time we have no control over our website and it is upto the web designer to update it for us.

SFR is also working on our own wastegate. It will not use any part of the factorys bogus design like other companies are doing. This will be a completely new design that is very similiar to the Tial 46mm.It will have a 50mm valve and be a direct bolt-on to the 951.It will also have a valve that is pushed into the valve body instead of out of the valve body like the factory or other aftermarket factory wastegates. This is a much better design and if you have any doubts, look at all the other wastegate manufacturers in the world.None of them force the valve out of the valve body.

Our new wastegate will be completely CNC'd.No casting. No flaws. It will be made out of billet aluminum and stainless. We might also offer another version that is built out of Inconel and titanium.

We will also be offering our new CNC'd blow-off valves. These are going to be bad ***. They will have some of the features of the best blow-off valves on the market all wrapped into one unit. They will have a 50mm valve, v-band clamps, an adjustment screw for adjusting the tension of the spring and come hard anodized in a vareity of colors.

We also have our new billet shifter in the works. It is similiar to the Kokeln unit except it has a few more adjustments and we devised a way to end the bizziness associated with billet aluminum shifters.

You can also expect the release of the new intake manifolds. We have two designs. They both utilize an oval plenum. One will be CNC'd out of aluminum with dettachable runners and the other will be out of carbon fiber with dettachable runners.

Finally....we are just about to get our first batch of Boost2 controllers in.They are quite different then the prototypes on our website. They will be CNC'd out of billet alumnum(and possibly titanium). They will have stainless hardware and a push button for switching between the two boost levels. They will also be hard anodized in a variety of colors. These controlers are not bleeder type controllers like the Turbonetics MBC's that everyone is selling. These are pressure relief type controllers which will hold the wastegate shut until your pre-set boost is acheived without any sort of spikes. There are no electronics either. We gaurantee that these will be the best manual controllers with two different boost settings in the world:^)

One last thing......I have seen some private emails going around talking a bunch of crap about SFR and myself. I see things like SFR is a sham. They dont make their own parts, etc.....There was even something that pertained to Rennlisters being a bunch of "ignorant bastards" and this was coming from one of the "Gurus" on these Rennlist boards!!!!! The truth is that we are not a sham and I doubt many of you are ignorant bastards. Take a look at the cars and products we are pumping out. I guess numerous dyno proven 400+ horsepower at the wheels cars are a sham? I guess various supercharged cars are a sham. I guess exhaust systems, MBC's, intake manifolds, intercooler pipes, intercoolers, mass-flow piping, alternator drop brackets, nose panels, intercooler ducts, bolt-on engine management systems, fuel lines and custom fuel rails,Big Red brake adaptors, wastegate adaptors, shift levers,etc..... that are built by hand are a sham!!!!!!! I really dont think so. Finally..... grow up people(reffering to the authors of these private emails). To all listers.....some people on these boards are not who you might think they are. They will talk bad about you in their private emails and then proceed to come onto the list and chime into every post like they really know what they are talking about. Sorry for the long post.

I just wanted to say that Danno was not the "Guru" (there are only a few "Gurus" and I am sure that most of the "ignorant bastards" can weed out who is behind this nonsense)who has been writing these derogatory emails about us and Rennlisters.Danno is a good guy that knows his sh*t.

I am process of having a Tial installed along with some other stuff.
As I always try to state in my posts I'm a end user not a expert. But acccording to the shop that does the work on my car this is the best way to go. They race Porsches cars on a national level.

I bought a 46mm Tial unit for my 944 turbo. I agree with Tim that the product is second to none. I guess everything would depend upon what your goals are for your car. I know this gate is overkill for my situation but I got a great deal on it and said "Why not?". Truth be known, any of the gates listed would be fine for 99% of the people out there.

I bought a Tial wastegate (and SFR adapter) based upon what I know about them through the Japanese import crowd. Tial wastegates are popular among MR2s and Supras (and you know those Supra guys don't dick around when it comes to horsepower).

Very good point. I dont personally know anyone with a 46mm Tial, but I have never heard a bad thing about them.

I bought my LR unit because it was an easy bolt and I needed a WG quick since my stocker had a punctured diaphragm(I was making 23lbs). I was Very pleased when I noticed the HUGE performance difference.

WEll, I dont know if it would be considered a Modified stock unit, because I'm pretty sure that they just use the hot side so that it would bolt straight up to the oe flanges. The head is completely different from what I understand. As for the size of the head, Thats the only problem I had with the install. I dont think you can fit much larger of a head up in that Crevis(Sorry, I apologize for the crappy wording, I know ) Seriously though, it is twice the diameter of the stock unit.

I really need it and frankly it burns me that I commissioned him to make one... and then when it was finished he stuck it in his car.
