another stupid thread about MAFs

If the M-Tune performs half as good as the A-Tune does (which, no doubt, it'll probably be even better...) then it's one hell of a setup. Got a few more miles on my car this morning (drove it to work - w00t!!) and while I've got the boost turned down to spring pressure (~10psi) I am still ALL smiles. Knowing what kind of difference I saw with my old Welt chip between 10psi and 14... I'm having a hard time NOT touching the Mo'Boost ****. (But still shaking the car down from a rebuild so going easy...)

Was the A-Tune w/ MAP really that huge a difference between chips? I mainly want to improve the drivability/throttle response/boost response. The increase in power is just icing in the cake for me.

Yes... compared to my Welt chip it's like a different car. The improvement in drivability, off-boost, and low-boost response and power is pretty significant. Spool up is substantially improved, the car has a lot more low-end grunt.

I imagine that the ability to use the MAP sensor and a 3D table would substantially increase off boost/low boost drivability. I hate that my LR/951MAXHP Multiboard Chip is very finicky at low boost and the low end power is...well there isn't much. The power comes on in one HUUUUGE rush at 3500rpm to redline. I'd like it to be a bit more linear than that or smoother. You can really feel the ignition retarding and advancing back and forth until it reaches a certain "satisfaction" point for it to deliver the grins.

My car with the Welt chip was the same way. Nothing...nothing...nothing... WHAM!
Then you will really like the A-Tune. Right now (at least at 10psi) the power is very smooth. Car feels much more like a big N/A 4 cylinder instead of a turbo. There's still the "whoosh" when the boost comes up but its MUCH smoother. (Again - this is on spring pressure at 10psi. It will probably get a little more abrupt when I open the MBC a little.) But it's substantially smoother, even at 10psi, than my Welt chip was.
I'd like it to be a bit more linear than that or smoother.
