Really!? Man, that's for crap. I did not realize that. Guess that explains some of my confusion (and likely confusing posts). I'm used to the Ford system that infers load from mass airflow and RPM. Ug, that explains a lot.

Man, I'm dumbfounded. Crazy.

Yep, which is exactly the reason I changed to software to be true 3D maps - the 2D mapping just doesn't make sense, especially for a turbo car.

Great thread. I can say that true 3D timing and fueling maps using air flow and MAP as two of the dimensions really change the entire dynamic of the 951 driving experience. Glad to see that someone else has invested so much time and money to continue product development for a very small community of enthusasist.

I'll be waiting for Rogue's updates / announcement. Not sure it will be in my budget, but having multiple vendors is always good for us consumers. And always good to see new development for these old cars.

Just please, for the love of god tell me its going to cost less than $1,000, or even less than $700. Really dont see the cost of raw materials costing as much as MAF kits do and feel like prices are so elevated because there is not much competition between the few tuning houses for the 951. Rogue has been the go to guy to show the way with the DIY tuning options. Cannot wait to see what he has in store for all of us. Good luck!

Maybe I can try to give you a different perspective. Stop thinking about the COST of the system, and start thinking about the VALUE of the system. It will be hard to say it is anything other than a good value if you look at it that way.

The attached picture shows what a 16KB code from a 1986 Ford Mustang SVO (2.3L Turbo I4) that has been disassembled looks like when printed out. Personally, I have always tried to get my employer to pay me as much as it was willing, but that's just me. Even if you don't think one should be allowed to profit from their expertise and effort, surely you can acknowledge that decoding something that looks like nothing more than 1C FF 7D 16 AC for enough lines to make up 16KB should be taken into consideration, in addition to the cost of the raw materials? You are talking about several hundred hours worth of work, and the customer base of 951 owners isn't anywhere nearly as large as the customer base of Camaro owners.

I'm thinking about buying a system from Rogue, when I could take the MAF program I've already written and make my car run from a Ford processor, instead. The time it takes to do some things is just way too much for many people. The simple facts of the matter are that for the money, the performance improvement will be hard to beat, and I couldn't recreate what he did for half of minimum wage if I were to put a value on my time.

I'm waiting as well.

If you're still developing don't forget those in areas that needs a stealth kit.

Do NOT quote me... I don't know for sure, but I would estimate ~2 weeks until the announcement of Rogue_Ant's kit. It will be very soon.

Also, I know a stealth version is being thought about. It really depends on the interest. The cost involved in making the fake AFMs would be too high unless >10 people wanted them.
