I still have alot of the porsche parts and im trying to sell them still.
16psi by 3600 sounds laggier than it should have been. BUT.. its gone now.

It def could have used a fine tuning as I was running it a bit rich since I never got around to dynoing it to get the fuel curve perfect for spoolup and it had a decent exhaust leak

In all honesty I've never heard a GT35 that spooled faster than that on a 2.5L anyway? That's approx 1 bar at what, 3400rpm? That's as good as my old stock k26/8 used to get with chips.

I got my GT30 to spool to 15 at 2900 on street in 4th.. (Full load only) typically 3100 any other gear or time. BUT.. I cant TRULY say from any experience of a GT35 on my car. Its strictly speculation from seeing similar gt30 owners going to a GT35 on OTHER cars... So... no real return opposition. 3600 is still good of course!

I can't get my current '76 .82 to boost like that but there is a big cam now. The older smaller '76 .63 would have got close.
I would think that a GT35 hitting 16psi at 3600 on the way to 22psi would be pretty strong.
When you look at other car forums they seem to think hitting boost by 4000 is good.

In a Honda, by 5K is fine. BUT.. they're revving to 9K.. that's a LOT of range with power. BTW.. my GT3076R was a .63 Hot side.. So.. there ya go. It made a ton of power with that housing. GT35 with a .82 is pretty slick. I would use a TIAL hot side though. (I'm going to try Dual inlet on my 3.0 though)

True 'nuff.
Check out this guy. Early days in development but it's an 8v 3L running a Gt3076 .82 at 15psi. He's got just under 500hp to the crank. I've now been clearly relegated to 2nd fastest 951 in Australia lol.

You had the 0.63 a/r turbine?
I think I logged 3400 rpm in 4th gear as best with a GT3582R 0.82 T3 on a 2.5l. But during transient boost conditions you could feel the size of the turbo. I think many people don't realize a bigger turbo slows down transient boost too, and not just reach 1 bar a couple of hundred rpms slower.

I wouldn't run a GT35 (talking about the standard size: GT3582R 0.82 T3) unless shooting for at least 1.5 bar of boost on a 2.5l.

According to the builder this car was bought already converted to widebody, 3L etc but once they started testing it they found all sorts of problems so they planned and built it from the ground up. Says there's virtually nothing stock left. Well over 6 figures spent on this car so they say. The focus was building something that was over engineered for reliability under race conditions. I guess that's why they have gone for what many would say is a small turbo but they only want to run pretty low boost so it's in a good efficiency range.

Nice to see so many projects still kicking around.

I'm on hold for awhile doing anything dramatic other than making the 87 more streetable. A nice new true maf setup and a heater. That's about it for now.

Well the 951 project is on hold for the time being, and the N/A decided she wanted some garage time... hope to have it all back together in a week or so... head is off being rebuilt by IMA Motorsport, gaskets and such are coming in, should have MOST of them by Friday, with even more stuff coming in next week! Even went one step further, all PS stuff is off the car, being cleaned up and refurbished / rebuilt, and the fuel tank is coming off for cleaning.. I need to drop the trans off to replace the mount (LR solid mount is driving me crazy, but I already have a buyer for it)..

Im Guessing his final drive ratio is shorter from looking at the speed he hits in 5th

Patrtick,

Thanks....those vids kept me from my work for about 20 minutes. Great video, good driving, and neat car. Thanks for posting.
