Just my luck. When I decide to sell the car I find out that the money I've been waiting for to fix it will be deposited into my account no later than june 2. What do I do! I want to fix my car so bad. I could take a nice vacation and work on it all day everyday until its done. There's a 951 with a blown headgasket by me for 3000. I could get him down on it. That car would save me a ton of time.

True. Heres the plan. I actually have my eye on another car. The guy wants like 6785 for the car.

The car:
Porsche 944 turbo 86 low miles 99k! Lots of service!! - $6785

I have for sale a good condition 1986 porsche 944 turbo-

Much of the service has been done, the car has been nothing but strong in the time I have owned it. Unfortunatly it is time to buy a house so I need to get rid of by far my favorite toy.

I have a full book of all the maint that has been done, some of the major work is:
Timing belt and all accesories(96k miles)
Fuel filter
Oil pressure sender
Axles/and cv joints rebuilt
Rebuilt ball joints
TIRES all brand new(300 miles)
Brakes
Tie rod ends
ROD bearings
Trans fluid change
Many more....

Car has minor performance modifications:
Lindsey racing boost enhancer
Autothority chips(klr/dme)
Roll cage with harness
Koni yellows all round 300lb
Race wheel

Interior is clean no rips in the seats!! There are a few dash cracks/paint chips, but it is a 24 year old porsche, to me it wasn't about apperance rather than how well my car ran. I also have a box of spare parts that comes with the car.

Thinking maybe I can get him down to around 6000 for it. Anyways,... heres my plan. Move my LSD tranny over to the new car. Remove and rebuild my old motor along with the K28 and then install that into the new car. The engine from what I read sounds like its in good condition. But I want the learning experience and I want to very fresh engine in my car along with some extra goodies such as a crank scraper, maybe a baffle in the oil pan, if his clutch is original I would either swap my old clutch which is new than original but still had many years on it or just get a new clutch. I wan tot replace all hoses and wires too. SoI still have a lot of work but this car has a lot of it done already. I can sell his engine, tranny, and whatever else I dont need. Sound good?

So im going to start removing only the stuff I want, tranny engine etc. But will tear the car down for anybody who wants something. For instance the guy that ask about my front bumber and something else. if my new car is pristine I will sell it to you.

Inspect the front of that^ car carefully, it looks like it's been hit.

Your referring to the larger than usual gap between the nose and the bumper? I emailed him asking many questions and for a meeting. Awaiting email.

The header panel also looks a little off the color on the rest of the car and those boxed side skirts could be a band-aid for some body damage.

Also, is that a rear-mounted antenna? That could be a real band-aided car.

It looks like that antenna could actually be coming out of the rear wiper hole. You should see the rear mounted antenna monstrosity the PO of my car put on.

Civic guy, could you please let me know when you'll be driving any car you've worked on in VA or SF Bay Area. Thanks.

Good eyes! Didnt even notice the antenna in the rear. Also,... you see the passenger fender where it meets with the nose? Its caving in at a the joint where they meet.

It looks like the front end of the pass side fender is too low and causing the back edge of the front bumper to bow out.

I was only able to get the exhaust off the car the other day. I wasted a lot fo time talking to my EX:\ Anyways. Im going right for the tranny.

I sent out several emails inquiring about some 951's I found for sale. I only got back one reply.

"i don't have any service records but i have talked to the reputable porsche mechanic that worked on it and he said he could get me a rundown on whats been done and approximate dates. there is a blemish on the passenger side door. looks like a parking lot dent that was improperly repaired and would need to be done over. i'm not aware of ant leaks except for an exhaust leak. paul"

Sounds very iffy to me. Cant prove anything was done. I aked if the car was ever in an accident and he didnt answer that. Why? I dont know. Think I might pass on it. I know Im only looking for a shell really,... but if im going to spend more money on a whole car a running car it has to be god so I can sell what I dont need to get some money back.

I have been scouring craigslist but what a pain that is. Having to search each town?!?!? Why cant I search by state to speed up the search process. sucks. Anyone know of any shells or good running accident free 951's somewhat around NJ?
