Anyways i ramp the boost very aggressively to get a great spoolup, i actually have a spike right before i hit max boost. If i were just to set the boost and be done with it i wouldn't have it spooling so fast. The piggyback boost control is a pain to set up right the first time but when you understand it its excellent.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the K27/6 or the K27/8. They are robust turbos, inexpensive, but not my favorite. I agree with you the K27/8 is on the laggy side. The K27/6 spools up fast but is restrictive up top. There are other options (yes more expensive), they spool up just as fast (if not faster than the k27/6) yet provide much more performance. It boils down to budget, requirements and personal preference.

Here's an old one of my K27/6 with a Bursch 2.5" test pipe, Huntley MAF, ARC2 fuel controller, chips, 52lbs Rochester injectors, and adjustable fuel pressure regulator.
PS> Ahhh the old days of tuning....
The ignition system was weak... which is why the dyno looked the way it did on that day,.

Boost? And yes, very nice bang for the buck.

Are you sure that's a K27/6? Are sure it's the -6 turbine? The reason I ask is because I've dynoed out a lot of K27/6 cars as well as having seen many others. But I've never seen one that spooled so late like yours does. Maybe the wastegate/boost controller was not functioning properly?
Anyway... that dyno is not what you'd normally see on a K27/6 with respect to spool (which should be very close to a stock K26/6 spool)

A K27/8 is about 12000 SEK if I leave my old turbo as exchange. To get a K27/6 I would need to first source an old K26/6 unit as well.
Buying a SFR or Pauertuning KKK/Garrett hybrid (I have assumed that they have a KKK hot housing, or is it a machined Garrett housing?) would be app. 10000 SEK including the swedish 25% VAT and freight (1$ = 7.55)
It will be interseting to see the Vitesse offer when it's ready.

So half /6 and half /8 - I would say that could be arguably be called a /7.
