Heater/AC unit install is near, so we checked out inside dashboard wiring. Otherwise it looked more or less OK, but wires which go to the engineroom to those big resistors were burnt more or less. Because copper wire conduct heat too good, we were forced to remove old tape a bit. After we removed a bit, we decided to remove all of it. Now it is easy to check out every single wire. We will build that damaged part and also remove badly done stereo installtion and replace it with ISO-connectors

Checking burnt part of wiring

Starting point looks quite good in the picture

But it was not so good after all. Some parts were so dry, that tape was more or less loose.

Now it is easy to make all repairs. After that we will put there few rolls of Jaybird hockey tape, as usual

God...I love it so...This is almost as fun as driving the darn things. You and the local crew have put Finland on my favorite places #1 spot! Thanks Olli.

Had some spare time, so we started with my youngest son Peter to fabricate some "tuning" parts for eldest son's 951. We have seen several times in Jarmo's 968 turbo some B-pilar dressing items, so we wanted to have similar (or little bit better version). When you are on budjet, you do them by yourself. Well, just molds at the momet

Peter puts som gealcoat on (no masks were used, because it was very windy)

first glassfibre & epoxy added

Borrowed some hightech tools from my wife Three sheets of glassfibre should be enough.

The finished product should look more or less like this

Let's see how our version turns out.

Another 'Lister' showed how he duplicated the CF look to fiberglass with a base gloss black paint and then sprayed silver through a rubber mesh, [from his tool box tray liner] and topped it off with clear coat. Looked perfect in the pics. Thought many times about transforming the plastic interior parts into CF artwork. Maybe your 'crew' could give it a try.

Most likely we are going to stay with the real CF. This B-pilar mod is among the mirrors the only place we are going to use it.

Just removed the first mold from the door. Peter (5 years old) did great job with gealcoat

Here's the unfinshed mold:

If my son skips 951 S oem wheels we are going to use this three piece forged 18" instead. Found a manufacturer which can produce them at "student-friendly-price"

This is another alternative

Just wait to see sons suspension system.... It will be really nice

We are working with wheel manufacturer to get a decent price 3-piece wheel. Also with those hard to find ET's for 928 people. When these are available, we are going to give you US guys all necessary contact information so also you can order these wheels for a same price as we can. Even tough i deal a lot with Porsche parts i am not going to be a wheel salesman, so no profit for me. We just needed these here in Finland and found a manufacturer who was willing to fullfill our needs.

Oli, I assume the Fuchs will be 17"?
What would be the weights and would they fit late offset cars?

18" is the smallest diameter. ET is 52 for front and 56 for rear, but ET can be changed if wanted.
