Default Engine bay thoughts

The car I'm building is Alpine White. The engine bay is in need
of a respray. I was thinking of painting it a different color so that it would be easier to keep clean and maybe offset the engine a little.

Any thoughts?

Pink?

Would flat black be an option?

Although I understand what your saying, if it's not body color, it just won't look right.

My vote: BODY COLOR. Anything else will look half a**ed and probably reduce resale value. If you make it shine and keep it clean it could look great!

White would be my choice.
If it has a smooth glossy finish it should be fairly easy to keep it looking like new.

Pink with purple poka dots...

Flat black or gloss black, american muscle car look.
Not worried about resale, but yeh I thought it might look 1/2 a..ed.
Anyone see it done before?

I will say body color, but the gray satin sounds cool

What are you doing for the engine color scheme, hoses, cam housing, intake ect ?

Body color only. I can relate as my car is alpine white as well and the engine bay looks sort of yellowed and dirty, but anything else would just look bad IMO.

body color only. everyone i have seen with re-spray in a different color, other than a track car, looks bad.

for cleaning the engine bay which I am doing right now I'm using 3M CC4 and also napthaline. They are safe on the paint and work really well.

Body color. An added benefit of a white car is that it is easier to see when you have leaks. Black cars are the worst.

Same issue, same car color. Replaced hood pad with a new one, bead blasted all the cast alum parts and stainless lines for everything. Accent color is red on mounts, cam tower etc. White is not ideal but it's what we got. Should be fine. Can get real strange if change colors, plus a lot of stuff to remove and replace if do it right. Engine should go in when warms back up. Snow here in DFW last night. Back to 70's by Tues.

I think if would look a bit too MAACO with anything but body color. Now if you were to come up with some nice splashy stripes or graphics for the car and match that color in the bay, then maybe -- e.g. wide blue cobra stripes with a matching blue engine bay?
