What is this 'done' of which you speak? These cars are never done, lol.

Congrats, can't wait to see it.

"Done" as in it's back in my garage with license plates on it and I can drive it on the track!

Yeah, the 968 mirrors are my next project, not sure if I have all the necessary parts though. I'll take pics of what I have and post them so people can point out what I need...

Shop drove the car and is quite impressed at how fast it is on the 9psi it's making on the wastegate spring.

Told them it should be a gas on the high boost 18psi map!

I really can't believe that Munks manages to stay in business. Just about everyone I know locally HATES the place & 75% of them hate them because they got screwed by them. I guess there are enough "uneducated chumps" around here to keep them going. I drive there regularly & always look to see what is parked outside - ready to be, or in the process of being screwed....

There are many good indies in the area - shame (and bad luck) that you happened to choose the worst one.

Good luck with the car now that you have it back!

Seller recommended them along with 1 or 2 other shops. I searched them on Rennlist and no one had anything bad to say about them, so I went with them. Obviously a mistake.

Update!

Vacuum leaks are fixed. All the Vitesse stuff is in. Gauges are in. Failed smog AGAIN! Better than last time, but still failed HC and CO by a decent amount. We're wondering if the old, stock cat that's on the car now is working...

They still have some things to take care of, so I'm leaving the car there for another week. I've got a Lindsey 3" exhaust on its way to me courtesy of a Rennlister, so I'm going to call Lindsey tomorrow and order up a brand new cat for it. Hopefully that will clean up the exhaust enough that the car passes, then I'll take the cat out and put the test pipe back on it...

Progress is being made, but I'm getting anxious to get the car back to me, especially as my next track event is 2 weeks away and I've already missed the first one of the season...

A/C is now working, diffuser is on along with the front splitter. All vitesse stuff on the car, wired in and operational.

Currently waiting on the delivery of my 3" Lindsey exhaust.

Shop is thinking we need to go back to the stock fuel injectors to get the car to pass smog, which means I need a 28 pin stock chip set. My car didn't come with the stock chips, can someone let me borrow theirs?

3" Lindsey turbo back exhaust is going on today. Sent the chipboard back to Vitesse to get the latest programming.

Then it's checking the main sensors, then programming via SMT6, then hopefully passing smog, then back to me completed!

Well Vitesse got the chip board today and 3 pins were broken off.

The shop is stepping up to the plate and getting me a new chip board.

It may be difficult to get the chip board back much before Friday morning.

This really cuts the schedule very tight in getting the car out to the track this Saturday.

This whole experience so far has just really blown goats. I'm squarely in Mr. Murphy's gun sight...

Chip board with latest software on it is on it's way back! Shop will have it tomorrow, there still may be a chance of getting the car to the track this weekend!

1 step forward, 2 steps back.

Went to pick the car up today, to hopefully take it to the track tomorrow. Car was running rich, wideband was showing 12.8-13.2 at idle, O2 wasn't going into closed loop. Vacuum gauge is also reading 3-4 inches less vacuum than before.

SMT6 maps somehow got erased and it was the end of the day of the start of a holiday weekend.

I threw in the towel. Shop is keeping the car longer to address:
#1 Passing smog as it failed yet again. I'm reverting back to stock injectors, afm and a custom smog chip Rogue Ant made.
#2 Check all sensors, tune SMT6
#3 Find break in wiring for left rear turn signal

I'm beginning to get a bit discouraged. This is the 2nd track event I've now missed...

Can you not drive the car on the street as is at least? Sucks you are having such trouble with the car.

FWIW, it took me nearly 18 months to sort out my 951, chasing one problem after the next until I really got to put some miles on it and enjoy it...It'll be worth it!
