I put a set of these wheels on my 87 951, and the offsets on the back are very aggressive, I had to do quite a bit of fender rolling to get rid of some tire rub, but in the end I think they look good. Not sure if I am going to keep them, I will have to make that call when it gets back from paint.

Just added these to my '89 N/, no rubbing but car hasn't been lowered. Also hand painted center caps with black background.

I've been interested in this wheel but just read the article entitled "Top 5 Toughest Aftermarket Wheels (And 3 to Avoid)" where the author, a manager at a wheel repair shop, lists Sport Edition as a brand to avoid. He considers too soft and prone to bending, often seeing them in his shop. This makes me worried about these low-cost wheels' durability, considering their low cost and them being made in China.

Any thoughts?

You don't repair them you buy a new one almost the same cost..

I have a different model and I drive the **** out of them. No problems at all and lite. As has been said, at this price, you turn it into wall art and buy a new one.

Anyone ever ran over a pothole or hit a curb in these wheels?

Thanks, sounds like these can be treated as consumable goods at these prices. I'm paranoid since I'm buying a set of winter wheels as a gift for someone who I suspect may run into a few curbs...

Any wheel, at this price point, for these cars, is really semi-disposable. For anything either lighter, or more rugged, you are either looking at a cheap REALLY heavy wheel, that may or may not turn out to be weak any7way, or an extremely expensive wheel that is definitely less durable, but much more easily repaired, and usually a two piece wheel. For the money and the use, this is a pretty good option.

Briging this back from the dead. Anyone put the 9" wide versions of the front of a late offset track car? I'm hoping they would fit with a 245/40/17 tire with 3 degrees of camber and rolled fenders.

I ran 245 on 18's on the front of my car in it its previous life without any problems what so ever (see avatar). It has a late model offset. If you are running camber plates on top , that combined with the adjustment on the lower part of the strut gives you a ridiculous amount adjustment options.
