well think about it, if he had 700+HP and did 180 in 1.7 miles, to do that in just one mile would take a **** ton of power. granted the gumpert probably has more drag due to downforcey stuff but still...a corvette with 430hp and pretty close cd to a 951 doing under 160?

Sure it will, take it 1 mile straight up and I am 99% sure it will go faster than 100 on the way back down!

951 will DEFINITELY break 100 in a mile, how much over 100 is another question... 120 maybe... 140.. nah... 190... not even with JATO / RATO strapped on!

But one of these...Maybe

Well that is the rub - you are only allowed to run your technical speed limit (based on safety gear). Unless you have a fully caged car with fire supression, etc you will be in a limited class.

When I ran the SORC we were limited to a 140 tech limit....... one of my navigators jobs was to tell me when we went over 150mph..... i have hilarious in car video... we hit the straights and it is a constant "over 150, OVER 150... 5 second delay... OVER 150 OVER150" This current setup (Much upgraded sionce Bonneville) required very little accelerator to maintaine 150mph.... but of course i could not find out what it would really do on top... but I can say without a doubt, there was ALOT left.... it would squirt up to 150 almost instantly.

The real issue is finding a venue to run the car without the safety of a full on dedicated racecar. I refuse to cage my car.... it is a true street driven car, and the rollbar/fixed seats/6pt is as far as I desire to go. I am constantly on the lookout for private events that may offer the venue. anybody with leads please PM

But come on 100 in a mile really, that's just silly! Mine runs a 13 sec quarter and traps at 109mph. That's with out leaning on the trans axle too hard.

194 in a mile is a tall order maybe 600 hp and 2500 lbs? Mine weights 3125 with me and a half a tank of gas. I can't find 600 lbs in mine I am willing to give up in my 951 so I'am out! I'll just keep big fishing around in Dayton NV. :

THE REASON WE CAN'T DO IT is because we live in a society where risk is unacceptable.

for better or worse.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKyFS...eature=related

The Germans first teach their driving candidates to keep right, then actually take your license away for driving in the wrong lane.

Then they make you RESPONSIBLE for driving the a speed with corresponding tires...
and get this: they must be properly inflated.

Germans are actually legally responsible to know what a speed-rated tire is.

in this country they let retarded people drive because it is politically incorrect to call a lousy driver a retard.

which in point of fact, a bad driver most actually is.

my car sits under 2800 lbs with half a tank. with me it is just over 3000. but it only has 150HP and the gearbox from a car with 220hp.

by the end of the year though....should be a bit quicker

Ferrari ramped up its top speed numbers in the F-355, then the 360 Modena, and

some actually thought it a bit curious that the top speed of the 360 wasn't anything past 300 km/hour... [ no faster than the F-355 ]

they were following a lethal plan... of setting the cars up and considering the speed later.

I like the way they did it.

300 kilometers per hour in a transaxle is a proper Porsche.

I think one of you will get there on a long straight someday.

or maybe it's even been done already.

Did 305 km/h a year ago.
There's one or two others, here, that have probably done it.
There's a few more that have the power, but maybe not the opportunity or the nerve.

2800 lbs is a 944 NA I have one with uprated suspension fun car when I drive that one in the mountains but in the standing mile... that's a knife in a gun fight.

odurandina nobody said they wanted to try this on public streets. Several of us have posted legal events. Nevada High Noon shootout standing mile run what you brung. If you live out here you don't need to be reminded that people can be idiots, highway 50 by my house dead straight for 25 miles. I drive by a pick up on it's side??? wtf!!?

Yep I know about tires Falcon FK 452 Speed rated to 186 mph.

Rouge_Ant I sent a PM did it get through? V2_Rocket any links to the Audi Powered 951? Do we still consider it a Porsche, certainly closer ties than a LS1.

Quick Reply: 190 mph in a 944 - (talkin' about gears, hp, etc)...
