Do you think this is more of an a/f issue or too much advance?
i.e. regardless of how rich, just too much timing for 15+psi

As far as making hp numbers, all you need to do on a mustang to make high (or low) numbers is change the weight of the dyno in the parameter settings. Takes 3 seconds. Boom 600hp out of a stock 2.5L NA Instant bragging rights.
What are your thoughts on the old debate of Mustang vs dynojet differences?

Not at all. You posted a poll that told us 75% of 951 owners on RL are between 250-400whp. That is good, interesting data.

Now, just a breakdown of those numbers at what boost and then we would know the most effecient setups.

I.e the highest hp @ lowest boost would be the most effecient/effective set up.

Without getting into a big discussion on it. Both are great dyno's, both will probably give slightly different numbers from each other. Both can be manipulated to show the numbers you want if need be (high, low, etc). If you want a true engine hp test (without using some pre figured engine hp to rwhp % figure), you probably need to pull the engine and put it on an engine dyno. Typically mustang dynos are set more conservative, but that can be easily changed by the shop depending on if they want to run similar numbers to other dynos in town, etc.

Dynos are fantastic for tuning and troubleshooting problems that you can't reproduce on the street easily.....being able to do hp runs is just a fun feature of each dyno, but you should interpret that number as an approximation.

Geez ...if we can throw any old thought and car out here...... f' it where is the option for 4000hp (I've done that before).

Hell just 3 weeks ago I made 1800 hp with a thumper 106 turbod SBC.

FYI I'm under the 400-450 range (for the 951).

I really don't think it's cool that people are just throwing numbers out w/o doing ****.....

I think that a thread where people posted their dyno sheets and what PSI/Octane they were on would be interesting. I suppose most folks don't know what a dyno is though or have a "super accurate" butt dyno with no moolah in the left pocket for the real thing.... It is so easy to calculate your horsepower anways...

Stock 944 turbo - 220hp
exhaust - 25hp
boost enhancer - 30hp
K&N air filter - 15hp
"stage 2" chips - 50hp
platinum plugs - 10hp
adjustable fuel pressure reg - 25hp

Total - 385hp at the crank or about 355 at the wheels

The idea was to have real and fictional data available. I honestly thought people was going to take it serious too.

There has been too many varied hp reads with similar mods to give much creedence to this poll. We've seen variances of +/- 100whp with almost identical mods throughout the world. I still maintain that US figures seem higher than the ROW and sure that some of this could be down to superior tuning but I don't think all of it is...sooooo.....Anyway I hope to add to this silly poll soon and this will be off an engine dyno. Saying that, how much load is dialed into this dyno I don't know. Guess it doesn't matter. It's only a number. Still got to put the rubber down on the track...that's where it counts!!!
