1200$ scoff yeh i was dreaming there mine cost about 1300 U$(mates rate) but is pretty mild and i waited for ages to buy a second hand web cam..so realy wouldn't the 3k cover the inlet manifold and crossover needed for a 3.0 T ??? if not please place your order today for parts and I'll get to work .
and when a 951 goes beyound 450 hp it usely has an expensive manifold and cross over .

The 2.7l 440 rwhp (!) engine had a lot of head work and cam (Vitesse) but it also had a stock intake and exhaust manifold. that engien is really a midrange torque engine - not set up as a high rpm dyno queen. Nice flat torque curve with a ton of power down low. I think it is a better daily driver street engine than a 16v....

but 16v's do have a certain look/feel to them!

He had his car at his sister's house where he hired a mechanic friend of his (who probably never seen a 951) to do the installation while the car was sitting outside.

I saw the turbo at your friend's sister's house, sitting on the motor mount, outdoors, with every opening on the turbo exposed with dirt all over it. I even mentioned to your friend that this is a no-no and there is a very good chance that the turbo has crap in it. Do you know for a fact that the oil feed line was replaced? What are the chances that the turbo was never primed and had junk in it from sitting outside exposed???? Did anyone bother to flush the engine a few times to get all the crud that could have been caused by the fire?

When the initial mechanic did a sorry job, your friend took the car to a reputable local shop. Where lots of work had to be done. No need to get into the details of how things ended, is there?????
Then eventually your friend took it somewhere else and that was the end of it... When was it 6,7 years ago??

Of course I don't expect you to remember all of this, as you were going to your family's tragedy and you were not involved.

So before you jump into conclusions and talk crap, get your story straight.

Now, before you try to hurt someone's reputation without any facts, try to clean your own reputation.
Are you still buying salvage Porsches at auctions and parting them out? What ever happened to the guy in Canada that you sold a LSD S2 tranny to, and when it showed up it was a non S2 tranny... Wasn't the police involved???
See this!

Weren't you selling a 6-spd transaxle before owning one (remember, you contacted me to see if I had one to get you out of a bind). Nice Avatar, do you even own a 993?

As far as where I get the turbos, take a number and wait in line till I tell you. Why is it every person want to know this. Oh, I forget, because they are kick *** turbos..

Too bad, even a great turbo will not live if it has dirt in it or it was not primed correctly.. Or better yet, get a butcher mechanic to install it....
John,
I did NOT talk crap.
I did NOT spread rumors, just asked a few simple questions....it's funny how you get all riled up and add in your own excuses and sway off topic. Easy there.
You DID claim a stg 3 kit "quick spool" was sold to him, whether you admit it now or not. We talked about this several times before he bought it. I asked about the brand of turbo you use, but you repeatedly ignored any info regarding the turbo. Regardless, my friend was excited about your dyno figures and still wanted it. Remember....YOU were trying to get a 968 6spd trans as partial payment + $2500 for your kit, you told me you can get 968 6spd LSD trannies all day for $1400....anyway... ......

When you saw the car, it still had the original K26/8 turbo on it.
The motor WAS extensively cleaned and prepped PRIOR to installation of your kit.
Motor Werks IS a very reputable shop. They are well known and their name is NOT "Motor Whatever". (Wow John, WOW)

As far as the LSD tranny I sold out of the S2, simply put, it WAS pulled out of an S2, and it WAS LSD. Buyer did not verify transmission code prior to purchasing, and the odds of someone swapping out a S2 trans for S trans are very slim, but apparently it did happen if Clark's Garage info on trans code is correct. In any case, trans code should have been verified prior to purchase. No John, sorry to disappoint you, but the police was not involved (but keep trying to do what you claim I was doing regarding reputation)

Clearly, I did not try to hurt anyone's reputation here......but some simple questions sure got you all defensive....

Do I own a 993? Yes I do. My 3rd one actually. Hope you can live with that.

John,
If others have had good results with your kits, that great.
If what I described that happened with my friend's 944T was due to other issues other than the turbo itself, then it is what it is.
I wanted to see others' comments regarding the turbos so as to narrow it down to possible factors.

OK - it appears that everyone has had their say. If there are remaining issues outside the scope of this thread - please post them back in PM. I, for one - would appreciate it. And - I have a feeling I'm not alone...

Carry on - and I hope all are having a great weekend!

If you go with bigger valves,ported,5 angle valve grinds, different springs, polished and that just scratching the surface im at $7800 to my 8v head. BUT it does pay and payoff to play

FWIW, on my personal 951, stock 2.5 liter block, head, intake and exhaust, with Vitesse Stage II turbo/MAF/chips, I am getting330 rwhp at 15psi/91 octane on the last dyno pass. I've got about 15k miles on the set up right now, with no troubles other than having to swap the stock CV axles.

Regards,

Stayed with stock replacements... I like the "weakest link" design and would rather pop the cv's than my tranny! lol
