Default I need a clutch

I was thinking spec stage 4 full metallic.
This is my stage 3 hybrid, it did not like heat.

Attachment 339859

Attachment 339860

It would be nice if it was somewhat streetable.
Any recommendations?

I have that Stage3 in a box in my garage.

How is it on the street?

I use a Kep 2 and a full organic disc. It clamps nice and is as smooth as stock (the pedal is heavy though).

Strange, the S3 should have no problems with heat. Or is your disc with organic pucks?
The S4 is basically an S3 without the springs.

Mine was fine on the street, decent modulation not much heavier than stock.

as I am sure you have found out hard launches and these clutches don't mix well.

I would look at the KEP 2 and a 6 puck. If the stage 2 will clamp a 930 then that is what I'd go with but I am not so confident.

what may work for around town hotrodding may be toast at high boost at the track (strip).

430 hp is on the low side for what you are doing IMO. You need to really look a the TQ you are making at the boost level you are running.

There was someone touting a hybrid recently and it sounded promising I'd have to look back at what it was.

The metallic pucks are scored pretty bad as is the pressure plate.
Flywheel side looks actually better.

It was fine on the street even with drag radials, top of second gear at the track is when it gave up. I'll look into the kep 2. Thanks.

+1. That with only 6 small pucks doesn't seem to give you much surface area.

hey tman -

did you opt for a lightened pressure plate? Is that why there are holes?
I am a bit Confused as that is exactly where I would not want one to be lightened.
Did this come that way from spec, or was it otherwise modified?

I am getting ready to pickup a stage3 hybrid spec setup myself, and expect 400 whp on E85.

Greatly appreciate you sharing

I've got the KEP stage 1 with a South Bend Feramic/organic disc. Has worked very well now for about 20,000 miles. According to KEP and South Bend the combo is good for at least 600 ft lbs.
