Should be well over 600 crank hp but expectations are never good

[QUOTE=blown 944;6329163]Maybe it would have been easier to adapt the T4

nice work Dave.QUOTE]

Hell, a T4 flange is only $30 and 30 minutes of work so, its on my mind.

Are you saying 2.9bar??, lol Don't worry, this won't come off the dyno without a desirable outcome.

lol no no no no... there's engines here that do 500-530 rwhp (around 570-600 crank) at 1.3-1.4 bar so I have to stress you a little

No seriously, in my opinion there's no need to run on the ragged edge of detonation, over 500 crank hp is enough power to play it a little safe.
Looking forward to seeing this engine in action in Pat's future track vid's

Sid, I'm using E85 every day 100% but this does have it's drawbacks. There is only one freakin' bowser in the whole of Sydney and probably the state with E85! Luckily it's not too far away, say 10 miles, but still I am concerned with running out of fuel from time to time.
We did a trackday a few weeks ago and after fitting the 044 pump, we found that the tune that was geared for the older pump, was now running too rich. So I was watching the fuel gauge move somewhat like the tacho! We've re calibrated it now and at the trackday in those videos it was much better.
With the new build and running the two maps and having a lot more power, I can stick with pump on a more regular basis but it also depends on how these new inj work out. If there's any compromise with the cold start / idle on pump fuel then I might revert to the E85 more often. I don't think that will be the case but it's nice to have options.

As you say Duke, there are a few more engines pushing some decent power. This one needs to hold together for a loooooooonnnnggggggg time. I am hoping we can do a glory run on the dyno and then put that sort of power figure back to bed. I would think with E85 and 30 psi we could see some interesting numbers, but they are just numbers. I am sure the rest of the driveline wouldn't be up to that so even 400 to the wheels is a fast car. We will have to wait and see. Maybe that other tranny might have to make it's way into this car....

Hmmm...

I will wait and see what you do. When you have to pony up again for the race fuel it may change your mind

I am fully content with my setup. I swear it is great, I just filled yesterday at 350 miles and it only took 16 gallons. I was not exactly light on the throttle at times either.

Maybe the fast closing injectors will allow for a decent MPG as well for you.

Oh race gas is entirely out of the question. Only E85 on the track and that's that. The ability for it to handle decent boost with no knock is the cruncher.
I think we'll be fine with these new injs. Currently I can go through a tank in a day if I get on it Sid, but that was with the past tune. Even now you could see some unburnt fuel on the track, but we haven't really done any tuning of quality on this current motor. The Vitesse piggy back works well and we've just played around to get decent afrs.
I'm hoping one 044 will be enough for the incoming engine, but we will have another one just in case.

Feel free to give it a hurry up anytime you want. We would really like to see this ready very soon if at all possible as we will be having a guest down here in late March that has been involved with this build from the start.
